Chapitre 61: Selfish desires

Irene stretched out of her balcony and looked down, only to grumble when she noticed how high it was. 'I can't jump from here. Otherwise, I might end up with broken legs or a broken hip.'

Immediately a scene of her limping and groaning in pain popped up in her mind and she shook her head to clear her thoughts. Another image appeared before her and this time, she had a disfigured face. Irene immediately moved away from the balcony railings lest she should lose balance and fall to her broken bones.

'I can't ruin my face. I need to abort this plan.' Her shoulders dropped in defeat when she could not think of anything else for the moment. 'How am I going to meet the King now?'

After her father left for the palace, she thought of ways to sneak out of the mansion. It was impossible without alerting the guards; they were everywhere. And Irene had an inkling that her father would have given out orders to everyone to ensure she did not leave the mansion.
