"I am glad that no one thought it was because he did not want to see your disfigured state." she smiled, but her face grimaced and she looked away as if she was disgusted by Ana's face.

"I would have believed it too if he had not kissed my wounded side." Ana nodded, not going into detail for she knew they could not show their growing affection to the noble family.

Meredith paused, as if she had swallowed something bitter. But she could neither swallow it nor spit it out.

'He kissed you?' was written all over her face that brought another smile on Ana's face who winced instead.

"This one will be better." she pointed at the red and golden decoration and detailed plan. Meredith nodded. Her eyes scan the room with growing fury inside.

"Then I will leave. If there is anything else, I will send a maid this time." Ana nodded, relieved that it was a very short and simple torment.

But Meredith had never been this kind! What was she up to?
