"Two days is a long time, Duncan. I do not need it to know who my wife is meeting." Duncan's eyes narrowed at Garrison and then he laughed.

"Oh garrison! You have seen it all your life. You took birth from hatred, nurtured with deception and had seen betrayal from your own eyes when your mother killed your father and fled away. Yet, you believe a woman would be loyal to you? To a beast that kills demons and bathes in their blood.

To one who holds curse more than blessings. Or do you believe that a woman could be loyal at all? I thought we have taught you enough lessons. But you are still a fool. Want to come with me for a night so I can remind you of everything again?" The man looked at Garrison with pity but Garrison looked away. He did not need their lessons again. They were embedded in his heart, his skin and his soul. 

"Anastasia is not like them." he repeated only to make Duncan laugh again.
