Chapitre 550: Only One

"Did something change in the palace." Lucas inhaled another breath. There was something odd in it. The darkness that had spread thick like a fog enveloping the earth in winters had started to fade.

He could inhale fresh air that was gross. It had taken weeks to adjust it to his liking.

"Umm… the royal palace is silent, your majesty. But the duke's palace.." the man hesitated when Lucas raised a brow and asked him to continue.. "They sent a letter informing us that all of our staff working there had caught a contagious disease. That's why they all had been dismissed from their work. The duchess had borrowed some staff from her maiden family." The man bowed lower and lower, afraid that he would garner the wrath of his lord. 

"All of them." the servant nodded reluctantly, full of fear. 

"Ha! Haha.. hahaha." The man laughed loudly as if he had gone senile.
