The carriage had just stopped in the palace when Garrison was invited to the palace. They asked for Rowan to join them too. But when Ana took a step forward, Garrison shook his head.

"You should go and rest. You need a warm bath and sleep." To reach earlier, they did not take any stoppage after the count palace.

Even if Ana tried to behave strong, she looked exhausted.

"But Rowan.."

"I have my father with me. I am sure everything would go well." he assured when she pursed her lips and looked at Garrison again.

"I will bring him unharmed. Go and rest." he brought her closer and kissed her forehead softly, shocking Caroline who stopped in her tracks.

Ana sighed and nodded slowly. Rowan hugged her and kissed her cheeks before leaving with his father.

Ana stood there for long until their carriage disappeared from her gaze. So many thoughts crossed through her mind, wrenching her heart as she knew the reason for their summon.
