Lorelai led Sullivan to her office instead of Zelrectch's office. She had many things on her mind. Mostly about the god that appeared in Fuyuki City.
Zelrectch had told her that she didn't need to worry about the god because the god had vowed to Alaya and Gaia that "She" would not do anything that would bring harm to this world.
Lorelai knew that Zelrectch might be a prankster, and he often gave her a headache. But when it came to matters concerning the safety of the world, he was usually serious and trustworthy.
However, Lorelai couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that lingered within her. She felt like Zelrectch had planned something that could potentially give her a migraine.
She could only sighed, then looked at the young man who was following her like a little lamb without knowing what awaited him inside her office.
She had prepared what she needed to teach him about manners. He needed to know his place.
"What a boring office you have there, Lorelai-chan."
Hearing such an honorific, her eyebrows twitched slightly in annoyance. She couldn't help but wonder if this young man had any respect for authority or if he was simply ignorant of proper etiquette. Regardless, she would make sure to address it during their lesson.
"What is your name?"
She asked with a stern tone. She didn't quite catch his name when they were talking through the ring of communication.
"Are you that old? To think you already forgot my name when I introduced myself just a few moments ago."
He replied with a hint of amusement in his voice.
Her eyebrows twitched harder as she tried to maintain her composure. She couldn't believe his audacity and lack of respect.
It was clear that addressing his behavior would be even harder than she had thought.
Not only did he seem dismissive of her, but he also seemed to enjoy provoking her. She realized that navigating this conversation would require an extra level of patience and diplomacy.
"I ask you once again, what is your name?"
She tried to insert dominance into her voice, hoping to regain control of the situation. However, his smug smile only grew wider, fueling her frustration.
"Well, it can't be helped if you really want to know my name that much. Listen carefully this time because next time if you beg me I won't tell you."
Her irritation intensified as his condescending tone grated on her nerves. She took a deep breath, reminding herself to stay composed and focused on her objective. She just needed his name, and then he would be at her mercy.
Inside this room, there were many spells that she had set that would be triggered when the magus or anyone's true name was announced by their own free will.
She was eager to hear his name so she would be able to teach this man a lesson.
"My name is Sullivan Morningstar."
As soon as the words left his mouth, a wave of satisfaction washed over her. The moment she had been waiting for had finally arrived, and now she could unleash the full force of her carefully crafted spells upon him. With a sly smile, she prepared to reveal her true power and make him regret ever underestimating her.
But something she didn't expect happened. All of her spells were overloaded then, causing a surge of chaotic energy that engulfed the room.
"What the-"
She couldn't even finish her sentence before the room erupted in a blinding explosion. Debris flew everywhere, and she found herself thrown back against the wall, disoriented and stunned.
"That's pretty nasty, you know. Runic magecraft? You actually pull something like that just to teach someone a lesson because he was rude to you? Honestly. I really like that, hehe."
Sullivan laughed with glee. His bad habit of finding amusement in chaos and destruction was evident.
As the dust settled, she struggled to regain her composure and glared at Sullivan with a mixture of anger and disbelief.
"How can you not be affected by the explosion?"
Sullivan shrugged nonchalantly, his eyes gleaming with mischief.
"I guess I've just been built differently. You should ask the biblical god about it."
"The Biblical God?"
She raised an eyebrow, intrigued by his reference.
"What does the biblical god have to do with your indifference towards explosions?"
She didn't realize it at first, but then it hit her. Why did he mention God in the context of explosions?
"Oh, it looks like you caught on to something. You are really smart. No wonder you could become the master of the clock tower at such a young age."
He chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
"Y-You are the god that appears in Fuyuki City?"
Not only Zelrectch pranked him. He also pranked her. Having someone like Zelrectch, the bastard vampire, near shouldn't be good for one's health.
As she processed the revelation, a sense of tension washed over her. She didn't think that the one who was being rude to her was actually a god. By the heirachy. He was even higher than her in terms of power and authority.
"What's the matter? A certain vampire got your tongue? I really like his humor."
Sullivan smiled slyly, revealing his sharp fangs (conjured). It was clear that he took pleasure in the chaos he caused.
'No, only one vampire has already caused so much chaos. I don't want another one. And he is even a god!'
