That evening the Silver Crescent pack celebrated in true werewolf style. A bonfire in the woods, the stands set up for those wanting to fight and show off their strength, a BBQ banquet and drinks all around. It was in full swing, and Aila's chest warmed at the sight of seeing her pack so happy.

Children still played, running around, giggling. Some of them, Aila recognised as those they'd rescued from the hunters' compound. They looked happy, healthy and in nice clean, fitting clothes. Or as clean as they could be after climbing trees and playing in the dirt. 

"My beautiful mate." Damon's arms wrapped around her from behind, pulling her into his chest and enveloping her in his warmth. "If you keep smiling like that, I will have to fight those lusting after you." Aila gasped and looked at him, her lips twitching as she giggled against his lips. "Or I might take you back to bed."
