Black Manor | 25th December 1985 | 10 AM

Charlus held onto the broom with his hand, but his grip was very weak and his hands slipped off. He started falling to the ground. He froze, and for some reason, the only thing he could think of was fire. The tattoo on his back glowed brightly, but not enough to be seen through his clothes. Charlus could feel his back burning. He felt was going to burst open..... and then nothing.

He slowed down and landed slowly on the ground. His broom slowly plopped right next to him. He looked around and noticed a thin line that was connected to him. He followed the line quickly before it vanished and it led to the end of Sirius' wand.

(AN: Please don't ask why a half phoenix is afraid of heights. He's just 8-years-old. Also in Percy Jackson, the freaking Daughter of Zeus is afraid of heights.)

Sirius might have been irresponsible in letting the children be alone at Diagon Alley but he definitely wouldn't let Charlus ride a broom 30 meters in the air for the first time unsupervised. He had been observing Charlus and had been ready in case something happened. Sirius put his wand back into the wand holster hidden in his sleeve. Charlus noticed that the line disappeared, and then he noticed Harry rushing towards him.

"That was so cool! Charlus, do it again!!" Harry was awestruck at how his brother had 'flown' from his broom to the ground. Charlus was speechless and had no idea how to answer his brother. He was scared to death and his brother wanted to do it again!

Sirius came to his rescue. "I think that's enough close calls for a day. Get inside will you? Charlus, don't go that high next time until your 18. Okay?"

Charlus nodded his head vigorously and followed Sirius into the Manor. He was shaken up.

Sirius took them to the dining hall and then turned towards them. He said dramatically, "I am going to give you the one thing you need the most right now. Can you guess what it is?"

The kids thought a lot but couldn't come up with anything. Sirius looked at them and sighed.

"Food! Come on, aren't you hungry?"

The three shook their head. They were so excited that they didn't feel hungry at all. Sirius shook his head too and said, "Well I don't care. Eat something or you'll get exhausted and you'll faint and then Neville's scary grandmother will be after me!"

Everyone laughed. They went to the dining hall and they had breakfast... well brunch. They were having pancakes and all of them ate so much that it lasted till dinner. The rest of the day passed leisurely, and by dinner, everyone was bored.

The one downfall of the Wizarding World was that there was no entertainment of any sort. Everyone was so very focussed on making dark wizards and defeating them that no one had time to make something fun to do when they were free. Everyone had dinner and Sirius sent them to bed.

Chalrus picked up his presents which were still strewn around the Christmas tree. He took them to his room and then took out the present Remus had given him a few days back.

When he was picking up the book Remus had given him as a Christmas present, he was reminded about Harry's situation. He knew that he had to work harder to know who the person was.

Flamel Manor | 25th December 1985 | 10 PM

Nicholas sat beside his wife, who was looking at a portrait of them that was taken 600 years ago. They were middle-aged then, and in front of Perenelle, their only child stood straight. Their son, Barmonus, was their pride, but he dies months after the portrait to an unknown illness. It was very sudden, and the two didn't have the heart to go through their son's dead body to investigate.

A teardrop fell off Nicholas' cheek.

"Don't worry Perenelle. We will meet him in a few years, but we have to wait. We waited for 600 years, these 5 years will pass in the blink of an eye."

"He told us to look after the boy till maturity Nicholas. That is only till he is 14. Why are you going so far?"

Nicholas smiled weakly.

"I am very selfish Perenelle. I simply want my legacy to live on, and if he is suitable, I will definitely be happy when I move on."

"But do you have to be so cruel. Telling a boy his brother will be in danger of getting killed is wrong Nicholas. Even if it is the truth."

Nicholas got up and went to the counter that was in the living room they were in. He took out a small vial which was in it, hidden behind the many scotch bottles that were in the front. He took it out and also took out two small glasses. The glasses seemed to be made of crystal, but any gemologist would look closely and say they were actually made of diamond.

Nicholas poured the entire vial into both glasses. He took them to the couch Perenelle sat in and handed it to her. They both downed the glass and sat on the couch.

"For the selfishness in me, I have done something I am sure to regret should it go wrong. But forgive me, Great God, for this person hates that he saw a small piece of his son in the child, and he couldn't help but feel the need to spread all that he had failed to give to his son, even if it be done forcefully."

Nicholas got up and left the room, but Perenelle stayed. She was still looking at the portrait in her hand.
