Chapitre 89: Thieves at the Villa (4)

As the screams of pain pierced her ears, Lady Clarissa's mind was transported back to the time when she was under the control of the thieves' leader.

She lay wide awake in her bed after the butler and the doctor left her room, expecting the inevitable intrusion. She knew the band of thieves would come. And because of that, she had discreetly instructed her butler to leave the windows ajar. 

The night was dark and silent, except for the occasional sound of leaves being disturbed by the wind. Until finally, the moonlight piercing through was disturbed by shadows. 

With a subtle screech, the windows opened wider, allowing the masked intruders to enter the room. They followed their devious leader, who had a wicked grin on his face.
