As they stood there, taking in the shabby state of the banquet hall, Mikael noticed that Beth was more marveling at how awful things looked rather than jumping in to do something about it.
Beth, in her moment of utter disbelief, let slip what was on her mind, blurting out, It's like… everyone just totally forgot this place even exists."
When Mikael heard Beth's blunt comment, he felt the urge to address her, and he called out, "Beth," with a stern tone that cut through the room.
It was then that Beth finally registered her insensitivity. She blinked, shaking off her brief moment of surprise, realizing that moping around and feeling down wasn't going to change a thing.
"I, I'm sorry, my lady." She snapped out of it, understanding that a change in approach was needed.
