Chapitre 196: Matchmaking for the Throne

Faith wished she could be as strong and charming as her father, or as bold and confident as her mother. They both made things look so easy for them, knowing what they wanted and what was best for them. Instead, Faith felt overwhelmed, weak, pathetic even, as if she was a mere shadow of what her parents had been.

Today she truly looked like a princess. The folds of her dress ruffled as she went down the steps to the ballroom. Heavy footsteps followed in her wake, as her personal guard escorted her as close as her shade. 

Terix's remarks from the night before rang in her head. "Pick a lord you may fancy, and we'll propose an engagement. We'll have plenty of time to win people's hearts and perhaps form strong alliances. There's a possibility that we will not go through with the wedding. You should nonetheless choose a man you like since you are going to spend time together."
