Chapitre 49: Witch?

"This is..."

Eric was silent for two seconds, and was ready to tell his parents the necessary "white lie."

Clark showed a nervous expression on his face, and said to his father: "This is not our stuff."

Jonathan was stunned, and looked at Clark suspiciously, "If it's not yours, why is it in your hands. Clark, do you know where our boundaries are."

  "Yes, I know."

Clark looked at the expressionless Eric with a guilty conscience.

"Clark, you and Eric have extraordinary talents. I don't want you to squander this talent. You know what you can do and what is absolutely prohibited." Jonathan

walked towards Eric as he spoke, "For Eric, the same goes for you. You know the bottom line of my requirements for you, use your abilities carefully, this is what we agreed on, right?"

  "I understand."

Eric nodded, he understood what his father meant. He

was just worried that he and Clark would use their extraordinary abilities to carry out some illegal activities.

"So, Clark, what are you packing in the box? "

After Jonathan lectured his two sons, he finally asked the most crucial question.

  "Inside."

Clark hesitated, ready to tell the reason he had thought of.

  "Squeak!"

The door was suddenly pushed open.

Lex Luthor pushed the door open and walked in, "Sorry, Mr. Jonathan, these are the things I asked Clark and Eric to keep for me."

Everyone in the room, especially Clark, was surprised by Lex's sudden visit.

  "Lex?"

"Sorry, Clark, I came without saying hello to you in advance."

Lex smiled apologetically at Clark, walked up to the astonished Jonathan, and stretched out his hand, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Jonathan."

Jonathan did not shake hands with the other party, frowned and said, "I don't think the relationship between my son and the Luthor family can be so close."

  "Actually,"

Lex did not mind that the other party ignored his handshake, and naturally withdrew his hand hanging in the air, "I encountered some troubles, and the manor where I live was damaged, so... some valuable things, please help me keep them temporarily. Clark. You know, the reconstruction of the manor is a very long process. "

  "Did you say so, Clark?"

  Lex asked Clark.

  ". That's right."

Clark breathed a sigh of relief and nodded repeatedly.

He was extremely grateful that Lex would come to the rescue at the critical moment.

"I know my son attended a party in your manor and was attacked by unknown people."

Jonathan's tone was obviously not very friendly, "Maybe you should stay away from my son, so that the troubles you cause will not involve Clark."

  ". I'm sorry, Mr. Jonathan."

Lex was a little embarrassed and touched his nose, "I am very grateful to Clark."

"What we need is not gratitude, but to keep a proper distance."

  "Jonathan!"

Seeing that her husband's tone was getting more and more unfriendly, Martha was afraid that the two would conflict, so she stopped her husband, "You talked a lot today. Clark, Eric and their friends may have something to say. We have to give them some space."

After hearing what his wife said, Jonathan stopped sneering at Lex. After looking at each other, he turned around and went upstairs with his wife.     "Lex, thank you!"

Clark breathed a sigh of relief and thanked Lex after his parents went upstairs.

"No, I should be the one to thank you. I'm glad to know you're okay, Clark!"

Lex replied in a good mood.

After chatting with Clark for a few words, Lex walked to Eric who was about to leave and stretched out his hand, "You are Eric, right? I'm Lex Luthor. I've read your book. It's really an eye-opener of your fantastic imagination."

Eric glanced at Lex's outstretched hand, "I always thought that ambitious people and capitalists don't have the leisure to read."

"In fact, for capitalists, reading can help them recognize the nature of society. For ambitious people, reading can help them accept the idea that 'when the time is right, anyone can do evil', so that they can feel at ease and find excuses for breaking the moral bottom line."

"You admit without hesitation that you are a capitalist and an ambitious person."

Although Eric's impression of Lex is not as bad as his father's, he doesn't have a good impression of him either.

"I know you, Lex Luthor. I can smell the selfishness and hypocrisy in you, and I also know the little tricks you are doing behind your back. If you don't want to get into trouble that you can't handle, put away your strong curiosity and little tricks, otherwise you won't always have such good luck."

After threatening Lex, Eric turned around and left.

Lex was left there with all his thoughts.

  "Are you okay, Lex?"

Clark came over and patted Lex who was lost in thought.

  "I'm fine."

Lex smiled and asked Clark, "Clark, how did you escape from the manor? I remember you were in the hall at that time."

Listening to the question asked to him by the other party, Clark's face turned bitter and he didn't know how to explain it.

  The next day, early morning.

  Smallville Town High School.

"It's great to see you return safely, Clark."

Pete hammered Clark's chest hard, "But I knew you would be fine a long time ago, after all, you are a superman with infinite strength."

"I'm not, Pete, if it weren't for my good luck, I wouldn't have gotten away so easily."

  Clark replied helplessly.

"Shouldn't we be concerned about the very serious terrorist attack that happened yesterday?"

Chloe complained dissatisfiedly: "Although no students were injured, the entire Luthor Manor was destroyed. I don't understand why everyone treats it as if nothing happened?"

"Chloe, you don't seem to understand the public relations power of the Luthor family. They will make everyone forget everything that is not good for them, just like they did to my parents."

Pete had a bad impression of Lex and said unhappily: "So, you'd better keep silent, otherwise the principal will close your little reporter room. By the way."

Pete quickly thought of something else, "This week's community event, Clark, can you go with me? I don't want to be alone and talk to those old people with dentures in the nursing home for a whole day."

"Didn't you say that you met an old man who can predict the future?" Chloe teased.

  Predict the future?

Hearing this word, Clark's heart moved.

He suddenly remembered the scene he saw - Eric held up a steel fork stuck in his head and whispered "Darkseid is dead". Is

that also a predictable future? !

Thanks to "Ordinary High Player" for the reward.

The weekend is here, I wish you all a happy weekend!
