Now that the opportunity had presented itself, Ivan was not going to pass up the opportunity to test this knowledge.

After a few moments of questioning, Nick Flamel's casual manner changed,

This was because he sensed that Ivan's skill in alchemy far exceeded his expectations and was close to the level that most alchemists would have to work hard to reach.

This discovery came as a surprise to Nick Flamel. From what he had been told, Ivan was highly skilled in Potions as well.

Could there really be such an all-round genius in the world?

Nick looked at Ivan's young face and was impressed, but he patiently answered Ivan's alchemy questions.

Yvonne was so absorbed in the exchange of questions and answers that, at regular intervals, the system prompt would ring in her head, but she ignored it, absorbing the knowledge like a sponge.

A few hours later, Ivan's mouth was dry from talking. He subconsciously picked up the teacup beside him and found it empty.

At the same time, the last system prompt sounded.

[Ding, after a period of study, your level of alchemy has improved, currently at Level 6 (1395/16000)]

Ivan glanced at it and found that in the past few hours, his Alchemy proficiency had increased by more than a thousand points!

Ever since he had absorbed Burke's knowledge of alchemy last year and raised his level to Level 6, his proficiency had been increasing at a snail's pace. Sometimes, he would only gain one or two points of proficiency after reading a thick book on alchemy.

Compared to the extremely long proficiency limit, Ivan felt that he would not be able to reach Level 7 in a few years!

Because of this, Ivan looked at Nick eagerly, his eyes full of desire for knowledge, as if he was looking at him as a new learning accelerator!

Nick, on the other hand, was also very pleased with Ivan's insatiable curiosity.

After his examination, he had a good idea of Ivan's background.

This young wizard was completely a practical wizard, and his ability to craft alchemical objects was very strong. If one had to point out a flaw, it would be that his theoretical knowledge was not solid enough…

At the same time, Nick was curious to know who Ivan learned alchemy from. Given Ivan's current level of alchemy, he was considered a top-notch alchemist in Britain.

"I don't have a real alchemist mentor. My mother, Alicia, taught me," Ivan explained, completely ignoring Burke and Tom's contributions.

"Is that so?" Nick Flamel thought for a moment. He had never heard of Alicia, so she was not a very famous alchemist.

This was to be expected. During the examination, he noticed that Ivan's studies were messy and he did not seem to have received a formal education in alchemy.

If a rogue could learn to this level, how could he not be talented?

After a moment's hesitation, Nick Flamel asked, "What do you think of alchemy? Or rather, what do you think alchemy is?"

"Well… I think that's how ancient witches and wizards learned about the world. They had the power to turn something rotten into something magical!" Ivan said, carefully examining Nick's expression. When he saw that Nick's expression did not change, he became bolder and continued.

"When I was at Hogwarts, I talked to a lot of wizards from Muggle families, and I heard a lot about the outside world, and I thought Alchemy was a bit like Muggle procedure!"

The ability to cast spells by sorting them in a certain way is similar to the ability to type code.

However, computers were not popular yet, and Ivan was worried that Nick would not understand, so he explained everything to him.

Nick Flamel laughed at Ivan's words. "That's quite a novel idea!"

"Then… do you think it's right?" Ivan quickly asked.

"It can be said to be right… or wrong!" Nick Flamel wiped the smile off his face and put on a serious expression. "Because in essence, alchemy is still about the power of magic!"

"To understand alchemy, one must first understand what magic is!" added Nick Flamel.

Ivan was completely baffled by this profound question, and he couldn't help but think back to the embarrassing moment when he transformed into an owl and was given a hard time in front of Ravenclaw.

The difference is that the bronze eagle guarding the door asks about the nature of magic rather than the nature of magic…

Ivan looked at Nick Flamel with great resentment. Was it wise to make things difficult for a young wizard with such a question?

Noticing Ivan's resentful expression, Nick Flamel lost his cool and began to laugh.

From the moment he entered the room, although Ivan had many expressions on his face, how could Nick Flamel not see that there was little emotion in Ivan's heart?

It was only now that she could see some children!

Ivan, on the other hand, scowled unhappily.

Nick Flamel stopped laughing, paused, then asked, "Do you remember the three steps of the spell?"

"Use your wand to channel the magic in your body, along with gestures and spells," Ivan replied seriously, not bothering about the incident.

"And which of these three steps seems more important to you?" asked Nick Flamel.

Ivan hesitated, having a difficult choice. For most spellcasters, these three steps were essential.

However, for powerful wizards, these three skills were not necessary. After all, one could cast spells without a staff or without a spell…

Nick Flamel did not press Ivan for an answer. Instead, he took an ancient wand from his robes and waved it in a curious gesture, very slowly, as if he were trying to impress Ivan.

"Scourgify!" Nick Flamel chanted as he waved his wand.

A gust of magical wind swept the cups off the table.

It was as if the cups were surrounded by invisible brushes. In a short while, the teacups became as clean as new and slowly stacked up on the plate.

Yvonne watched in silence, unable to grasp the significance of Nick Flamel's actions. Did he just want to clean up?

Before Yvonne could figure it out, Nick Flamel waved his wand again, this time with exactly the same magic, and the magical wind began to sweep across the room, clearing the dust and straightening the seats.

The alchemical creatures below grabbed the corners of the tables or cups in panic, afraid that they would be swept out of the room as rubbish!

Ivan's expression changed as he realised that this time, Nick Flamel had spoken in French instead of English!

Even his spell-casting gestures changed slightly!

Ivan stood up in surprise, his eyes shining as he stared at the legendary alchemist, wanting an answer!

Nick didn't look at Ivan as he placed his left hand on a plate.

Without the use of a wand or incantation, the plate suddenly twisted and stretched like a fluid. A few seconds later, a pigeon with pure white feathers appeared in the middle of the table.

The snow-white pigeon's intelligent eyes wandered around and landed on Nick's arm, fluttering its wings.

Nick hurried to the window and sent the pigeon flying out of the house with a flick of his arm. He watched as it flew away, then turned to Yvonne and complained.

"There are wizards and witches all over the world, and their spells and gestures are in fact quite different, but magic can still thrive. I'm sure you know the secret of this, don't you?"
