"I just can't wait to be done with all this boring shit. Honestly, I'd prefer if I had to fight a few people or something like that."
Walking into the old church, Takashi Mitarai was surprised to find a brutal scene. It didn't help that he was already on guard the moment the door was open. His suspicions were confirmed when there was a hanged dried, dead body on the wall. There was writing in a foreign language.
"It means to punish the sinner," a voice said, making Mitarai look towards the couch to see them. A young man with short white hair and red eyes. He wore clerical clothing and had a creepy smile on his face.
Mitarai's instincts kicked in and he jumped at Freed, kicking him in the face. Before Freed could recover, Mitarai punched him in the face. "I don't know who you are but I can't trust you right now," Mitarai said, continuously punching Freed and ignoring his screeching.
Freed's hand twitched as he reached for the handle. As soon as he did, fear crept towards Mitarai and he slammed his arm against Freed, stopping him from doing whatever he was doing. "Y-you fucker! Just let me stab you!" Freed shouted.
Mitarai continued to wail on his hands until he stopped when he heard someone say, "Father Freed." His eyes widened when he realized the voice.
Takashi stopped hitting Freed but he didn't grow lax as he made sure to slam Freed hard one more time and stepped down on him to ensure he wouldn't get up. "So what are you doing with that psychopath? Unless you're secretly like that the whole time." Mitarai said with a worried tone.
Asia Argento shook her hands rapidly. "N-no, that's not the case. I don't even know what's happening. Father Freed, what is happening?! Why are you two fighting?" Asia's eyes went towards the blood and the body on the wall. "W-what the?!"
Mitarai sighed "I'm guessing you didn't know what he was doing. In any case, you're involved in some stuff, so you should probably be careful about everything. I don't really have much I can do, but you don't seem like such a bad person, so I don't want you to get hurt."
"Mitarai-kun..." Asia muttered.
Suddenly, portals began to overflow.
Everything was a blur but Mitarai got out of that place, leaving Asia there. 'I feel bad for leaving her like that but sometimes it's yourself first. I just hope they don't kill her.'
Rias looked Mitarai over "I think you now know that you should never go near that church again," Rias said.
Mitarai nodded "Yeah. I just hope that girl is alright. You know, I can't help but feel bad for her. She looks quite innocent."
Akeno smiled. "Didn't take you for being such a softie."
Mitarai chuckled. "Yeah, don't take it as such. I've just seen stuff and been quite hard myself, so I can tell she's really fragile. The difference between the two of us is just so hard for me not to notice. But I'll stop going to that church. I don't like it, though."
Rias exhaled. "I can understand your complaints but you know I'm not trying to be harsh on you. I'm just cautious and I really don't want to get hurt."
Mitarai nodded. "I get it, I don't want to either… it's just…"
-------------------------------------------
"Oi, oi, is this supposed to be a coincidence or what?" Mitarai said out loud as he saw the ditzy blonde haired, green eyed girl right in front of him.
"Mitarai?" she muttered. "What are you doing here?"
Mitarai looked at her funny "I'm supposed to ask you that question, Asia. I thought for sure you wouldn't get out of wherever ever you were. Although it's a relief to see that you are still alive."
"As well as you. I thank the Lord" Mitarai gritted his teeth in pain. "For being able to meet you again," Asia said with a smile, something that Mitarai had to once again hold himself in.
He couldn't blame the innocent girl but he really wished she'd stop blessing him every time they had met. It's like she was trying to kill him. If she was, it would be highly successful as a start.
Mitarai looked to see if he had some money within "Say, Asia. Wanna hang out?" he asked her.
Asia had never had such an interesting experience in her life. The first place Mitarai took her to was the bowling alley. Asia sometimes struggled or collapsed when trying to hold and throw the ball. It got some good laughs but Mitarai always made sure never to take it too far and help her if things got too much for her to handle. She blushed several times when feeling their hands collide.
After that exhausting sport (for Asia at least), Mitarai took her to a restaurant to get some good. Her eyes glittered when she saw Mitarai using both hands to eat his burger instead of the knife and fork, (Such a classy girl).
She thought it was even stranger when she found out that was the normal thing to do. They got a couple more good moments as Asia found herself struggling from a brain freeze when Mitarai challenged her to eat their ice cream the fastest.
"That was such a great tour, wasn't it?" Mitarai said to Asia. "You looked to be enjoying yourself. I had some fun too so I don't mind that I wasted some time." He added.
Asia played with her fingers as she tugged on Mitarai, gaining his attention. "I want to tell you about my story... if that's okay."
Mitarai sat down with her. "I'm listening."
"I was born in Italy and my parents died when I was young 'or at least that's what everyone keeps telling me', so I ended up at a Church. When I was young, I awakened this mysterious ability and I could Healing Ability, they called me a saint for that. However, one day, I saw someone who was injured and healed them. It later turned out to be a devil, so I was cast out as a witch and…"
"Stupid idiots!" Mitarai growled.
"Huh?"
"They're idiots all of them. They're an ungrateful bunch! If they want to blame someone, blame themselves for casually allowing a devil to get so close." Mitarai looked to see Asia's face.
"Sorry for that rant, I just couldn't help but get angry for your scenario. They don't appreciate you for who you are and ended up being stupid. It's not my place to say much but I still am going to say how I feel."
Asia blushed. "T-thank you, Mitarai! No one has ever been this nice to me!" She cried out, hugging Mitarai.
Mitarai found the close comfort a bit awkward. "Oh, you don't need to hug so close you know. I'm just fine, and I was only saying what I was thinking."
An evil chuckle changed the atmosphere, despite the sunny day. "How romantic. Two little love birds talking. How pathetic!"
Mitarai narrowed his eyes, pushing Asia a bit back. "What do you want now? If you think we're on a date, you are wrong. I'm just cheering her up, crazy bitch."
"Crazy bitch?! You're gonna regret that devil scum!" she shouted.
Asia looked to Mitarai. "Huh, you're a devil."
Mitarai sighed. "Well, yeah, I am. For a couple of days now. Surprisingly, not as bad as one would expect. I still have my soul but you don't need to know anything else, Asia. Just don't let this woman get to you."
"That's not for you to decide, devil! Asia, come to me. I offered you protection, so just come here and I won't have to harm him!" she said, summoning a light spear.
Asia began to walk. "No, don't harm Mitarai-kun! I'll go with you if I have to!" Asia shouted. "Please, Lady Raynare!"
"Good girl, Asia. Just come here and…"
"Shut up, Raynare!" Mitarai shouted, making everyone stop.
"Don't think for a moment I'm going to let you get your way. I can just tell you are up to no good, and I'm frankly tired of some of this shit, so I'm taking you down!" Mitarai told her.
Raynare let out a villainous laugh. "And just what do you think you can—?!"
Mitarai's Sacred Gear muttered the mantra for strengthening.
Raynare couldn't follow with anything as a high kick from Mitarai knocked the living daylights and smashed her through the concrete floor and into a tree, her body twitching and blood pouring down her face.
Her eyes widened and trembled in fear as she saw Mitarai standing over her with draconic eyes. "If all you want to do is make things harder for her, I can make things hard for you."
With surprising strength, given the fact she was booted from afar, Raynare went down on her knees. "P-please! Have mercy on me Master Mitarai! I was wrong! I'll do anything! Just don't kill me!" she said, unable to cope with the intense aura leaking off of him.
'Now what to do? I guess I'll probe her for the information she has,' Mitarai thought. "Raynare. I want you to tell me everything you planned to do in Asia. Be honest, because I'm not deciding your fate, Asia is!" Mitarai warned her. "Is that understood?"
A jolt went through Raynare's body and she swallowed the lump in her throat. "Y-yes," she weakly whimpered, spilling off all her secrets soon after.
Asia sighed heavily as Raynare looked with the same fear. "I know I probably shouldn't but I don't think you should kill her, Mitarai. That's what I'll say."
"Huh? Why?"
Mitarai looked at Asia and sighed. "For crying out loud. Guess there's nothing I can do about it. Raynare, be thankful Asia is this kind."
Raynare weakly nodded.
Mitarai stopped himself from beating Raynare up for the shit she was going to do. 'Looks like I need to report this to Rias. It seems big, so I'm gonna need to put an end to the activities in the church.'
