"Big brother…good morning."
"Good morning," Aurum shut his eyes tightly, covering them from lights pouring from the window. He slowly opened them as rays of lights passed through the gaps between his fingers. He lowered his eyes towards his chest, seeing Eve's shimmering ruby eyes.
She took the palm of his hand between hers, slowly bringing it to her cheek, rubbing his fingers her against her skin, "Aren't you excited in the morning. Did you have a good dream?"
"Excited?" Aurum felt the raging hardness inside his pants. He sat up in the back seat of the bus, seeing the heads of three or four familiar people in the front, "Did they…"
Eve mischievous chuckled. She proudly puffed her breasts out, tapping them, "Don't worry, big brother. I made sure they know your superiority."
"You did what?" Aurum asked, lowering his face, covering his face that was covered in embarrassment. For your friends to see you in this state when you are the most defenceless, 'there cannot be a bigger shame in this world!'
He tightened his jaw in anger, seeing Eve's cheerful face, satisfied after her devilish plot, "You cheeky little thing! Come here!"
"No, big brother! I was!!!" Eve tried to resist when he got a hold of her head. He put his legs over her shoulder, trapping her before grabbing her cheeks, pushing them, pulling them, making a mess out of them until it satisfied him.
"Shut up!!!" Aurum shouted. He sneaked glances towards the front, and not a single one of them was looking back. Surely, they were snickering right now, he could even see them shake, "Eveeeeee!!!"
And so, a few minutes later,
Eve covered her cheeks, sitting in the front as everyone was slowly entering the bus, "big brother is a brute."
"Shut up," Aurum covered her mouth with the palm of his hand, putting some force behind it since he didn't know any other way to punish her, "What have you decided?"
"Right now, we have three vehicles," Saya abruptly took charge, "First of all. I think we should abandon the bike altogether. It doesn't give the protection of the car against the zombies. Then we'd have the jeep and the bus. Most of them, like Kyoko-sensei and Marikawa-sensei, Rei and Hisashi can be on the bus. Fatty, Takashi and I can be in the jeep. That leaves you two. Are you going to take the Bus or Jeep?"
Aurum looked towards Eve, who looked up at him, being obedient for once. He liked her like this when she annoyed and embarrassed him rather than acting all prim and proper, "Which one…let's see. Who will be the drivers?"
"I! I! I am going to be driving the bus!" Shizuka raised her hand, brimming with happiness even in a situation like this.
"And Jeep?"
"I can drive," Kyoko raised her hand. She looked thinner than yesterday, aghast at the current situation.
"I can try it," Takashi raised his arm.
"I know how to drive," Hisashi raised his slightly.
"I see, then we should keep a spare driver in case. Then I can drive a bus. It is different from cars. It is heavier and more clunky," Aurum rubbed his chin, "whereas Jeep is Swift in comparison. Then, Hirano, Takashi, Saya, Hisashi. The Four of you take the Jeep. Eve, Rei, Kyoko-sensei, Marikawa-sensei and Saeko will take the bus along with me."
"Don't you think there are too few people on their side. I'll go with them." (Rei)
"The maximum occupancy is of four people. Imagining the scenario where they are surrounded and they have to lower their windows, they need that middle empty space to manoeuvre away from the window and take care of the zombies. If you or anyone else occupy that space, then it is the same as forcing them to be near zombies."
"That…you are assuming that we will be surrounded," Rei frowned.
Aurum countered her argument by asking, "Are you saying you are right by assuming that you will not be surrounded?" Aurum countered her argument.
"Now, now, there is no need to get in an argument. You are not going to win against him," Eve stood beside her brother, "And big brother, I don't think avoiding the topic is the way to go."
Aurum looked away from her. He sighed, "as expected. Eve knew what I was thinking."
"She's not the only one! I know what you are thinking too!" Saya brought attention to herself, almost as if fighting with Eve.
"Am I missing something," Saeko had been calmy listening to the plan till now. She understood it for most parts until now, so she decided to speak up.
"Heh," Saya tilted her head, giving Rei, Hisashi and Takashi a mocking look, "It's clear that Takashi likes Rei, but she broke up with him and got towards with Hisashi—"
"This has nothing to do with that!" Takashi raised his voice against the unexpected jab.
"As if! There is no way you are going to be comfortable in the same car as the two of them!" Saya shouted back with the same intensity, "You might get along with Hisashi and separately get along with Rei but when the two of them are together and you are force to watch then of course you are going to feel discomfort!"
"No one is blaming you. You won't be the only one to feel awkward. They both will as well. You guys are only human," Aurum sighed.
"I see, that kind of tension doesn't have any place on the battlefield," Saeko narrowed her eyes.
"Right, to remedy that, we can remove Takashi from the group, but the only one to replace him can be Saeko. But we need Saeko here, she's the vanguard, who will keep the zombies away, while Eve and I can shoot them from the distance. If Rei is here, then we could have a midfielder too, like a soccer game and have a stable formation," Aurum scratched his jaw.
"While in the Jeep is swifter. It's better to place play making like Saya there so she could command Takashi, who is like a berserker or warrior. And Hisashi who is like a marital-artist. And Hirano, who can fight close and far as long as he has a shield. We have Tasers, crossbows, and guns for him with his good aim."
Aurum raised his crystal blue eyes, "Both parties have a certain balance to them. If I put Rei into that team, then there will be a breakage in our formation. We will lose a wall and zombies will come for Eve and me, and we will have to leave Saeko to deal with the front. That's death for all of us. Same, if we put you in that team, then Takashi and Hiashi will be on edge. And that will annoy Saya, and Hirano woul—"
"I get it!" Rei stopped him. She gave him a grudging look, "Basically, Hisashi and me being a couple will get in the way of our survival. Then, isn't it the same with you and Eve? If anything were to go wrong, then you would rush after her in an instant!"
"That's why they have stronger ones on their side," Saya interrupted her, "Clearly, Saeko-senpai doesn't need any help! She along is leading in terms of levels, and her one combat skill is already S Rank. She's on a different level! Then Aurum is a monster. One-man army!"
"Eve, on the other hand might act like her brother's pet, but I bet if anyone of us picked a fight with her, then we'd lose!"
"My brother's pet," Eve cupped her cheek, blinking in a daze, "That's the first time…someone described me so well."
"You stay silent a little longer," Aurum covered her mouth with a trouble look from the strange gazes he got from everyone.
"Bro-con," Saya looked towards her with feigned disgust, only to see the challenging smile in Eve's eyes that only she knew about. She ground her teeth, "anyway! Does anyone have a problem with this?!"
She ran her gaze over the faces of others, seeing the reluctant acceptance on their faces, "good. Then let's decide where we are going to go first."
"We don't have parents, so we are good to go. I am sure big brother wants to form a survivor group," Eve pulled her big brother's hand down, "In the eyes of others we are children, we have guns, and manpower, not only that big brother's existence alone is a weapon for any group, and men are sure to come after me. Being men. Then, we seek to establish our own survival base. About right, big brother?"
"Exactly right," Aurum narrowed his eyes, "For that, we have time. First, we are going to help you find your parents, providing you will all the support you need."
"In turn, we obey you, is that it?" Saya knew every from the beginning. She was acting like she was in opposition to make sure no one else was.
"My parents are in foreign, there is no way I can reach them," Kohta raised his hand, "And since my only skill is with guns. I'll stay where there are guns!"
"Basically, with me," Aurum shrugged, "Saeko?"
"My father is also not here. Then again, he's the best swordsman I know. I didn't have doubts before, but with these levels around I can be sure father will flourish."
"I have a mother and little sister. I need to go find them," Hisashi spoke out his main goal, "My house is on the other side of the bridge."
"Ours too," Eve smiled at him.
"I want to go see my parents, save them if need me. My father is a police officer, I am sure he can be of help to you!" (Rei)
"My mother teaches in an Elementary school. She should be there…so I am going there." (Takashi)
"You warned my parents about something like this. They made minimum preparation and they should have acted the moment they realised the true scale of danger once they got the reports. Still, I want to make sure they are safe with my own eyes, then I'll follow you." (Saya)
"I don't have anyone at home…I live along. But I can cook! I can be of help!" Kyoko desperately looked towards Aurum.
'Unlike air-head Shizuka, she's at the end of her ropes. I need to manage her mental condition well, then again, this would be the best time to,' Aurum thoughtfully looked towards her.
"Marikawa-sensei?"
"Me? Umm…I have to check on a friend. Her house is near the bridge! Oh, she also has things like Aurum-chan, like the jeep, and guns!"
"Guns and Jeep! More of them!" Kohta's eyes brightened. He was nearly drooling at the thought of more guns.
"I see, that would be of help. If we grow even stronger, then we can further divide into three groups," Aurum, rubbed his chin, "Then, let's go get those things, and check on Sensei's friend. We will go to Takagi Estate from there, and seeing our numbers and strength we will divide further into two to three groups. Searching for your parents. How does that sound?"
"If brainstorming session is over, then let's move out," Saeko climbed to her feet, gripping the katana, "There is no need to waste any more time."
"Ture," Aurum smiled at Eve, and they slowly started making preparation, the voice of God startled them along with everyone else.
[In light of the casualties. Safe Area will be strengthened. A Shield will appear that only humans can cross.]
[The number of zombies have gone down.]
They waited for more words, but that was when the voice stopped. Takashi looked towards the statue with caution and fear, "that sounds informative and even helpful…but why do I have a bad feeling about this?"
"Because that was in no way they made those changes while keeping humans wellbeing in mind."
