Haru

He lowered his face until we were nose to nose and lips to lips. He asked, his breath warm on my skin, “Are you, by any chance, not wearing any underwear?”

He noticed?

“I’m…I’m going to wear some now,” I stammered.

“Don’t bother,” he said, chuckling. “Because you’ll only dirty it.” He nonchalantly planted a brief kiss on my lips and then went into the bathroom.

Standing there alone, I stared out through the window, at a great view of the city of Tokyo, where thousands of small dots of lights ran across the vast expanse. Of course, I wasn’t taking in the scenery. My mind was on Aiden.

Dirty my underwear?

I moved to the bed and slipped in between the sheets. Then I heard the shower running and knew Aiden was in it. I turned on the television. It was something to do, since my sleepiness had disappeared because of what Aiden had implied. What came on was a Japanese drama, which I watched but wasn’t paying attention to.
