"Home sweet home," Ezequiel murmured as he and Marie stepped back into the villa. Just half an hour earlier, they had bid farewell to Anna and Johann after exchanging contact information.
Now, Marie could visit Anna at her home whenever they wished, and they'd also see each other twice a week during their combat and planet management training at the Devil Slayer Bureau. Ezequiel would be joining them for the combat training, which would begin in three days.
As they entered the villa, Ezequiel immediately collapsed onto the sofa. Though he didn't feel physical fatigue—being a Demi-God—it was a mental habit carried over from his mortal days. Just as he was about to shift his focus to the lower dimension to check on his territory, something came to mind.
"Here's the business card with the donut blueprint, Anna. But don't eat too many; you might regret it if you overload on sugar," he said, tossing the card to her, relieved to be rid of it.
The moment his consciousness entered the lower dimension, he was nearly overwhelmed by the flood of information assaulting his senses.
'It's clear I need to advance my cultivation. Managing an entire world with my current level of consciousness is almost too much.'
By now, Ezequiel's Angels had already conquered the entire world for him. With wings that allowed them to move at incredible speeds, they could traverse the entire world in less than an hour. Even now, they were still flying around, wiping out goblins and wild beasts alike. Wherever Ezequiel looked, he saw only carnage.
After conquering the capitals of all the major nations, and with no remaining opponents to challenge him, the world was essentially his. He could even see into cities where goblins still cowered, awaiting their inevitable demise.
'I didn't expect this to happen so quickly, but it looks like I can upgrade the summoning platform earlier than I thought.' The last upgrade required Ezequiel to conquer just one village, so he was stunned when the next one demanded control of the entire world—a nearly unreasonable requirement.
All that was left was to spend the necessary Faith Points, but fortunately, it would only take a billion. The main challenge when upgrading the summoning platform wasn't the Faith Points but the territory size.
As Ezequiel reviewed the next set of requirements, he felt a twinge of disappointment. To upgrade it again, he would need to rule an entire Middle-World. It seemed this next upgrade would take far longer than the first two.
But he refused to let this minor setback spoil his mood. Since he had only summoned five Angels for the day, he decided to test the new limit by summoning more. After spending 20,000 Faith Points, he received the familiar notification: he had reached his limit for the day.
'But that's more than I expected. Twenty-five Angels—five times more than before. That means one Archangel every four days. Finally, I can increase the Faith Points I earn, but it will still be a while before I reach the Lesser God Realm.'
At that moment, Ezequiel realized something: he had nothing to do.
There were no enemies threatening his life, no immediate dangers, and thus no pressure. There was no need to rush his development in the near future. It was still too early to conquer new worlds since this one sufficed for now.
He decided to wait until more of his Angels reached the Sea Expansion Realm—perhaps around 200 of them. At that point, he could easily conquer other Low-Worlds with overwhelming strength, minimizing casualties on the enemy side and securing more followers. Attacking another world with just 226 Angels was an unnecessary risk.
The only real task left was to develop his current world, but most of those changes would be rendered obsolete when he transformed it into the "Divine Angelic Realm." At that point, most of the formations and structures they built would be destroyed in the process.
There wasn't much to do aside from watching his Angels cultivate—a task about as exciting as watching paint dry.
'Honestly, it might not be so bad to take it slow for a few months. Each Angel needs about 111 days in total to break through to the Sea Expansion Realm.'
'One day for the Body Refinement Realm, ten for the Energy Refinement, and 100 to reach the peak of the Foundation Establishment Realm. In less than five months, I'll have several hundred Angels with Sea Expansion Realm cultivation. Then I can conquer as many low-level worlds as I want.'
Ezequiel was content with taking a little break. The past few weeks had been rushed, and he knew that in the future, it could take millions or even billions of years to make just a small amount of progress. Even that would pass in the blink of an eye given his infinite lifespan.
'I hope I don't become too strong to end my own life one day. Back on Earth, I always thought immortality was the worst curse. Eventually, you experience everything, and if you truly live forever, each day will become torture. I hope I never reach that point.'
But Ezequiel's concerns were unfounded. As a god's realm increased, so did the strength of their soul and willpower. They could easily live for eons without succumbing to boredom.
Finally, Ezequiel issued orders regarding the territory's future development to his Archangels, who would oversee the process.
For the next few days, they would focus on purging every living creature on the planet—perhaps sparing plants, but certainly not animals or goblins. Afterward, they would concentrate on cultivating and harvesting the planet's resources in preparation for war. He also instructed them to build proper houses—he couldn't stand seeing the most elegant species in all of Chaos living in the ruins of a goblin village. Now that they had the time, it was about time they did it.
When an Angel broke through to the Sea Expansion Realm, they would focus on Alchemy or Blacksmithing if they had a lifestyle profession. Otherwise, they were free to pursue whatever they desired. If they wanted to pray or erect statues of him they could do so, Ezequiel wouldn't mind a little narcissism.
As for himself, he would focus on reaching the second level of the Demi-God Realm to enhance his consciousness and soul strength. Otherwise, managing a second planet might be too much.
Finally, Ezequiel retreated to the Divine Dimension. He realized he wouldn't need to check on his believers more than once a day from now on. As long as they remained unnoticed by a Middle-World, they wouldn't face any significant threats.
