The crowd was taken aback by the fact that such a young person was leading a company that was making waves in multiple industries. He went on to explain that while he was not a direct partner with the Sea Corporations, nor was he endorsing them in any way, he wanted to assure everyone that this partnership would not interfere with their operations.

John was silent for a moment before he replied. "I don't know how to explain it, Julia. It seems like Alex has somehow turned things around. I don't understand it, but he's making a name for himself and it looks like he's going to be successful."

Just a few months ago, he and Julia were trying to take down Alex, They had been relentless in their pursuit to bring him down, to make him miserable. But now, there he was, standing on the stage of the grand opening of Voltronix's revolutionary battery, PV-17.

John's phone rang, jolting him out of his thoughts. He answered it, and Julia's frantic voice filled his ear. "John, I don't understand what's going on. How did he do it?" she asked.

John couldn't answer her, he was too stunned by the sight of Alex on the TV. He looked over at his father, Alan, who was sitting next to him on the couch. Alan's face was calm, but John could see the anger simmering just below the surface.

The sight of his father's anger stirred something inside of John. It was a mixture of excitement and sadness. Excitement that his father would finally take down Alex and make him pay for what he had done. And sadness because deep down, John knew that his obsession with bringing Alex down was a coping mechanism for the trauma he suffered after killing Alex's father.
