Chapitre 30: Chapter 28 - Purchase and Cultivation

After struggling for a while, Catherine decided to buy the knife. She had already made a resolution to stop hiding completely like before. She wouldn't advertise her location actively to those looking for her but she also wouldn't let others stop her from doing what she wanted anymore.

In that case, an item for self defence would be nice. The steel knife wasn't anything impressive, but the difference between having it an not having it would be huge in a battle between Body tempering cultivators; if you were to take bloodline abilities out of the equation.

At least half of a battle between Body tempering cultivators is a battle of physical prowess and skill, so a excellent weapon can be a deciding factor.

Once she decided on it, she touched the image of the knife in confirmation. The image then started to glow with a green outline, the following words appeared after that, [Host, please hold your hand out in order to receive your purchase.]

Catherine did as instructed and the image was then surrounded by the green light, it then floated out of the system screen and hovered over her open palm. A moment later, Catherine felt her hand sink slightly due to the additional weight.

As the green glow faded away, she realised that the item was already in her hand. It was a a knife around 30cm long and 10cm wide, it reminded her of a tactical combat knives. She pulled it out of the leather sheath it came with to inspect; it was metallic with little decoration yet it's shape and quality gave Catherine a rush of adrenaline.

She wasn't a combat fanatic, but to say she had not interest in it would be a lie. The weapon had a serrated side like the teeth of a predator and a straight blade on the other, it was curved at the end and the handle was made of polished wood.

Catherine fell in love it immediately; not only was it gorgeous in it's simplicity, but it was both impossible for the others to find in her system space and capable of use with elementum! It was what she needed most now that her Body Tempering was at such a high level.

She quickly put it away before her daughter noticed, the system space still gave her a headache whenever she let her mind into it, so she avoided that by just willing the system to do the work for her.

'Alright, now that the system store is out of the way, I should look into the new cultivation method.' She then opened the description of the cultivation method to make sure she didn't miss out on anything.

Catherine started looking through the first steps in using this technique, she took deep, slow breath to calm her mind and closed her eyes. She focused on finding the small bundle on Yang energy in her pubic region.

Since this was the second time trying to find it, it only took her a quarter of an hour. It was still longer than she would have liked but Catherine just shelved that negative thought away.

Knowing that she had no problems with sensing her Yang essence, she opened her eyes and started to carefully study the basics of the cultivation technique that's described.

All it showed was how to move the Yang essence in a cycle around the pubic region but the pathways were very complex.

It was a mix of veins, capillaries, meridians and even muscles. it took her half an hour to memorise it all despite her improved memory from cultivation, not to mention her originally outstanding mind.

She took another deep breath and felt the meridians, blood vessels and pathways described in the cultivation technique, 'now, let's see just how much Yang essence I can influence.'
