Madame Lula watched Elian impassively, her expression betrayed no sympathy for his suffering.

"Why do you think, Elian? Men like him don't see us as equals. We are toys, playthings for their amusement. You were nothing more than a game to him. Don't you see? He's been toying with you this whole time."

Elian shook his head frantically, but the truth was there, staring him in the face. Every tender moment, every stolen glance, every touch, it had all been a lie. He was nothing to Izan. He had been used, deceived, and now he was left to pick up the pieces of his broken heart.

He had thought he found something with Izan, something that, though forbidden, had felt real. He had held onto it, clung to it like a lifeline, and now it had been ripped away, leaving him with nothing.
