"Your Majesty, Your Majesty," I could hear Sereni's voice calling me as I struggled to open my eyes.
When I saw Sereni, it finally struck me at how much she reminded me of my best friend Rachel. I shook my head as I rubbed my eyes.
"What is happening today?" I had to make sure as I had no idea which timeline did Zaccheus dropped me in this time.
Sereni stared at me incredulously as she laughed: "It is your wedding day, Your Majesty!"
I frowned. "Who am I marrying again?"
"Your Majesty! You are marrying... " just at that moment a loud explosion shook the entire palace. The chandelier rattled as dusts from the ceiling and walls started to cover the rooms as the cracks could be seen everywhere.
Amidst screams and shouting, Sereni put on a cloak over my night attire as we scrambled out of the building which threatened to collapse at any moment.
No sooner had we gone out, the entire palace collapsed before our very own eyes.
"Prince Geoffrey is still inside!" Someone exclaimed.
My heart sank.
"Who else is trapped inside?" I shouted.
"I am here, Your Majesty," I turned around at the familiar voice as I jumped into his embrace and hugged him tightly. I did not care if he was the one whom I was going to marry or not that day.
"How could I leave you before I marry you?" He whispered as he kissed my hair.
I relaxed my shoulders as I sighed in relief.
So we are getting married after all.
There were traces of black magic at play at the whole incident.
"Kingdom of Magnio." I cursed under my breath.
"Too early to say, Your Majesty," Jeff frowned as he took in the rubbles in front of him.
Just then my court advisor appeared and bowed in front of me.
"Your Majesty, please allow me to reverse the cursed magic to restore the palace," said Advisor Leif.
"You may proceed," I waved my hand in approval.
Advisor Leif raised both his arms into the sky and chanted inaudibly. Soon the bricks rose from the rubble and within seconds the palace was restored to its original condition. People started walking out of the palace, their injuries were minor and no one was severely injured.
"This is only a warning, Your Majesty. They are not happy with the Royal Wedding," Advisor Leif said quietly.
I nodded. "The wedding shall proceed."
Suddenly, the bright sky turned dark and rain poured heavily. People scurried along into the palace. Jeff sheltered me with his coat as we ran for shelter.
Out of the corners of my eyes I caught a black hooded figure. The next thing I knew I was snatched from Jeff's tight embrace and I was shrouded in darkness. Someone placed a hood over my head!!!
I was being kidnaped!
"The Queen is kidnapped!!! Save the Queen!" Sereni shouted.
I felt the shouting becoming fainter and fainter, and I knew we were leaving the palace grounds further away.
"Stupid kidnapper. Didn't he know that he can't force a marriage even if he raped me?" I thought.
I felt like we were in a carriage drawn by the horses as I could hear them galloping. I fell into a deep slumber as there was nothing I could do in the darkness anyway.
When I came around, we were still on the move. I did not speak the entire journey nor did my kidnapper made any attempt to communicate with me. My wrists were bound tightly in front of me and I was in a lying down position. The coach felt luxurious as the seat was cushioned and soft to the touch.
Finally our carriage halted.
I was unceremoniously bundled like a livestock over the man's shoulders again as he carried me out.
Next thing I knew I was thrown on a bed. At least that was how it felt like.
The hood was removed from me and as my eyes adjusted to the bright light I saw 4 maids waiting for me with nervous smiles.
"Milady, we are here to get you ready. Would you like to freshen up? Care for a drink? It had been a long journey," a slightly older one of them spoke.
"Water please," I said, my parched throat craving for a sip of water as I did not have anything since I woke up this morning.
She poured out a glass of lemon infused water for me and I gulped it down thirstily. I handed the glass back to her as I nodded my head when she asked me if I would like another glass. I was dehydrated!
"Where am I now? What kingdom is this?" I finally asked.
Before she could answer me, the door opens and he stepped in.
"Cassandra," he said with longing in his voice.
"Stay by the door, I will call you all in later," he said.
I raised my eyebrows as I took another sip from my second glass of water. I should have known it was him.
How many lifetimes had he been pursuing me?
As if he could read my mind, he smiled as he moved smoothly like a panther, silently lurking and closing in on his prey.
"I told you to wait for me and not marry Jeff," he said with a gentle smile.
"I presume that this is not the only lifetime where you snatched me away from him," I looked at him with an accusing expression.
"Now that we are here, yet we are there In the future I don't think I am interested to see how this lifetime pan out anyway. Let's go back. Or would you care to explain to me what is this all about? Why are you calling me Cassandra?" I probed.
He sat down at the edge of my bed beside me as I emptied my second glass of water.
"You cannot leave now that you have drunk something from my place. Let's just stay and enjoy the ride," his smile turned menacing as his silver eyes turned red.
I glared at him. He was so tricky!
"Fine, then tell me the story from the beginning," I crossed my arms in front of me.
"You have always been beautiful no matter what name you take, Cassandra," he said as he breathed in my hair fragrance as he closed in and hugged me. I remained frozen, I could not fight him even if I wanted to. I looked at him with an annoyed expression as he broke off his embrace.
"It was ages ago since I first laid my eyes on you. Your name was Cassandra. We never really were meant to be together," his eyes downcast as he looked extremely sad.
"But I won't let fate win. I traveled through time again and again just to make you mine," his silver eyes looked determined as I drowned in their depth.
"Even if we don't stay on in this era I think you can already guess what happens next?" He said with a solemn look on his eyes.
"No I don't, you have the luxury of all these memories while I don't remember a thing," she retorted.
"Prince Vincent of Magnio will burst through the doors any moment now, and fight for your honour. That is why I wanted to speak to you first. No matter what you cannot marry Jeff," he said.
"Wait, so you would rather I marry another man rather than let me marry Jeff?" I was confused.
"Something like that," he gave a bitter smile.
A commotion could be heard outside and true enough Prince Vincent banged down the door in his full military regalia.
Zaccheus disappeared into thin air.
Right behind Prince Vincent was Jeff.
"Thank God you are alright," Jeff came and hugged me.
"Where are we now exactly?" I just had to make sure.
"Kingdom of Opheum, they did not make it to the top 20 at all during the selection and you know how they had been waiting for Nitriel to open up the doors to trade with them," said Prince Vincent.
"Can I freshen up for a bit? It had been a long ride? Can we trust the four maids outside to help me?" I requested. The two princes nodded and exited the room.
After a quick dip in the bathtub, I got dressed in the attire that Zaccheus had prepared for me. It was a beautiful gown befitting a bride. It was even more beautiful than my wedding gown back at the palace!
As I stepped out of the room, Prince Vincent and Jeff looked at me admiringly.
"Why can't I just marry two men at the same time?" I laughed out loud before realising I spoke out my mind.
"Actually you can do that, Your Majesty," said Advisor Leif as he and Minister Albus stepped forward.
"The ruling Queen can decide to marry two men to strengthen the Kingdom's alliances and security," Minister Albus confirmed.
"We certainly can do that. I definitely would not have been able to locate you as fast today if not for Prince Vincent," Jeff said.
"Honestly I am not one to share my woman, but if this works, I am open to it," said Prince Vincent.
"It is settled then. Come let us travel back for the wedding," with three knocks on the ground with his staff, Leif transported all of us back to Nitreil.
"The Queen is here!" Sereni ran towards me and hugged me. She looked at me to check if I was alright and finally said: "Wow, did your kidnapper gifted you this wedding dress? He kidnapper you just to doll you up for the wedding?"
"That sounds about right."
My head was spinning with all that happened in just one morning.
"How is this marriage with two men going to work? What happens when I am pregnant?" I asked Advisor Leif.
"They will both be the father," he said matter-of-factly.
"This is crazy, I am sure Zaccheus did not show me all these for nothing. I wonder what he wanted to prove," I thought to myself.
The wedding went by like a blur for me.
The wedding night was something I was totally unprepared for.
It was already daunting enough for one men and now both men will deflower me? I was a nervous wreck.
The maids bathed me and I was dressed in a loose white nightgown. They placed extra layers of sheets on the bed just in case my virginal blood will stain the bed. I blushed at the thought.
Just then my two husbands entered the room one after another. I broke out in cold sweat as I continued to brush my hair in front of the mirror as both men made it to be bed. Making themselves feel at home as they kicked back their shoes and lay down there waiting for me.
