“Mr. Callisto is on the way,” the blonde Alpha reports, her voice strained.
“What?” I exclaim.
“Cameron’s bodyguard just got word. Apparently, he called off the authorities, which is why we didn’t get help when your friend called 911. He’s demanding an explanation for what just happened.”
“He sounds like a real piece of work.” Ramon dabs at his own forehead.” I saw his press conference earlier. He seems to think his sh*t smells like roses.”
I would’ve chuckled, but the fact that Roxy has remained stone-faced next to me has me concerned. We all follow Rivkah back into the club. Roxy’s gaze is focused far out in front of her, as if assessing all future scenarios like a supercomputer.
“Roxy…we’re going to find her and get this all sorted out,” I say, and Roxy nods. I can tell her mind is going a hundred miles an hour processing that her ex-girlfriend is behind the theft of the Alpha medallion.
