Roxy wraps her strong arms around me and I bury my face into the crook of her neck.
I fit into her in all the right places.
I inhale like I’m preparing to go to sleep, taking in her scent and tucking the bridge of my nose into right where her neck meets her shoulder.
The fabric of her ribbed turtleneck brushes softly on my skin, but I bet her skin is softer.
Roxy leans the side of her face against the crown of my head, and I swear it sends me into another world.
I’ve left orbit. I’m floating, suspended in space.
“Don’t mention it. It’s the least I can do.” Roxy’s voice rumbles like the content growl of a tiger.
I want to press my body into hers so tight that we merge as one person. The softness of her curvy chest and the hard planes of her back muscles make my heart flip.
“You’re a good person. I can’t believe you knew I’d want some bubble bath.” I take one last moment of being framed in her arms and lean back.
