Nothing was eating us after the shock earlier. Besides, Macey was eating a little biscuit given by Chren. He wasn't exhausted either.
I positioned myself on the left side of the bed.
Camilla and I found Macey in the middle of a deep sleep.
I hope everything will be fine by tomorrow.
I hope this will end.
Gradually, my eyelids became heavier until drowsiness finally visited me.
I found myself in a room. I was alone and very quiet all around.
The room was where we slept.
My eyes rubbed together.
The light from the window dimmed slightly in my eyes.
I used my arm to cover my eyes, dazzled by the light coming from there.
I rolled my eyes across the room.
No more people.
I was the only one there. My companions were probably already outside and just let me sleep longer.
I got up to go out and look for them.
My eyes were still wide as I walked out of the room.
I was almost paralyzed when I was greeted by a rat as I walked down the hallway last night.
I was just exhausted in my mind.
I continued my walk until I reached the stairs. I walked there slowly so as not to break a sweat. It was already hard and I might even fall. I will definitely get not only scars and bruises but also strained muscles and body pain. When I got down to the first floor, I immediately looked for my companions.
"Lily? Macey?" I have the strength to call their names.
I received no response.
I looked for them in the living room, but not a single one of them was there.
My forehead furrowed, but I continued the search.
"Camilla?"
I still didn't get an answer from them, but I heard some crackles coming from the kitchen, so I went there immediately, thinking they were all there.
But my brows furrowed when I reached the kitchen area.
Only to find it empty.
There was none.
There is no sign that someone went here.
I was about to turn around to go back to the living room when the kitchen door slammed.
Immediately, my forehead twitched and intense nervousness engulfed my chest. My hands shook quickly. It sure has a lot of stuff to prevent any unwanted entry of a wild animal, but who knows?
What if the animals are strong enough to break the door?
My knees weakened as I retreated away from the kitchen entrance, as the crashes became more intense, I became entrapped in the wall to want to destroy the kitchen door.
I swallowed my own saliva.
Even if I wanted to run away, I wouldn't be able to step on my feet. It seemed like even they were feeling the nervousness that I feel now.
I'm having trouble breathing. My eyes are also starting to water.
I forcibly stepped back on my trembling feet again.
And the tears that I had been holding back one by one when the things we had made the door barrier fell down.
