Chapitre 6: Hidden Kingdom
In a different realm somewhere unknown to the people of the outer world, a transcendently beautiful middle-aged woman stood in a large hall of the Diatoran Kingdom in front of the royal council.
She had a sculptured figure, her waist was tapered and her complexion had a flawless fair hue.
Her molten-red hair plunged over her slender shoulders and her daunting aura made the people before her shiver slightly.
She stood gloriously in her regal royal gown before the throne, facing the council and her sweet compelling voice reverberated in the ears of her listeners.
"The King has been gone for nearly a month now in search of his so-called offspring since the prophetess informed him about her existence," she informed them." While we are still waiting for him to return, I'll be in control of everything that goes on in this Kingdom from now on," she announced in a firm tone, which didn't sit well with the elders before her.
They all creased their brows in disapproval, but none of them dared to question her authority. They all knew how shrewd and cruel she could be.
"B..bu...but, my queen, the King placed Sir Craig in charge before he left, H...how can you then be....be in control?" a bald middle-aged man who was one of the royal officials managed to say with his head bowed deeply -his lips trembling.
Queen Xenia's eyes narrowed at the man who just spoke and her gaze on the man turned sharp and dangerous.
She raised her right hand in the air toward the man and closed her fingers in a tight fist.
At the same time, the man who spoke felt his throat constrict. He raised his hand to his neck and felt his throat being squeezed as if he was being hanged.
"How dare you question my authority?!" she snarled as she tightened her fist, causing the man's throat to tighten.
"pl...plea..please...my..que...queen" the man's struggling voice pleaded with the now annoyed queen.
The people in the room just stared at the scene in front of them, their eyes widened and they stared in utter shock at what was happening to their fellow colleague.No one attempted to stop the queen and all they could do was pray that the queen would spare the man's life.
After a few minutes of struggling with his constricted throat, the queen loosened her fist and the bald man coughed profusely after the release. He coughed blood as he held his neck.
"Anyone else wants to question my authority?" she asked menacingly causing the men before her to bow their heads deeply.
A deafening silence ensued in the room, such that one could hear a pin fall in that silence.
"That's what I thought," she said in a surly tone before she walked gracefully out of the hall, her loyal guards walking closely behind her.
Xenia Leos was the second wife of the king and queen of the Diatoran Kingdom. She was feared for her cruelty and brutality. She mostly punished those who disobeyed her in a ruthless manner which imprinted fear in the hearts of her subjects. She mostly did this in the absence of her husband, the king and no one dared to speak against the queen, or else they knew the consequences that awaited them-the ultimate being their deaths.
The Diatoran Kingdom was a kingdom that had existed for several decades and was hidden from the people of the outer world. No one knew about it, except for the people who belonged to it.
The Kingdom was a moderately huge one that consisted of three clans; The Lee clan with people with the ability to heal.
The Leighton clan, who were known for their ability of compulsion, and lastly the Leos clan who belonged to the royal blood and were known to possess a lot of special abilities, most of them unknown to the people unless it was displayed.
Meanwhile, in Peyton's house, Lea furrowed her brows at her father's words. She stared at him for a while before she stood up slowly and raised her hand like she did with the robber towards the table before her but nothing happened.
She tried once again but again, nothing happened.
"I don't know why it's not working now, dad. But it did with the robber," she explained to her father whose forehead was still creased.
"Lea, I'm not sure what happened, but what you said you did with your hand is just not possible," he said, making Lea frown deeply.
She blinked her velvety eyelashes and stared at her dad and then her mom, and also Nicole who held the expression 'It's impossible' on their faces.
Her shoulders slumped and she sat back on the sofa.
"Listen, honey...I'm sure you were just hallucinating because of the shock you felt when you were attacked. What you are saying can never happen, dear." Mr.Gordon tried to reason with her daughter.
"Get some sleep, you'll be fine."
Lea just nodded her head, she wasn't a bit convinced with what her father was saying because she saw it happen and the memory was still fresh in her mind, but at the same time, she couldn't understand how she could ever do that since it was not possible.
Nicole helped her to their room and Lea went to take a warm bath to soothe her mind of the recent happenings.
