The day after the attack, Cole gathered his friends—Lina, Ty, and Zack—at the diner where they usually met. He needed to tell them everything, and more importantly, they needed a plan. The underground wasn't going to stop until they had him under their control, and the only way to protect themselves was to stay one step ahead.
The four of them sat around the booth, the hum of conversation from the other patrons filling the air. But inside their small circle, the tension was palpable.
"So what now?" Ty asked, his voice low. "These guys aren't just going to give up."
Cole nodded, his mind already racing through possibilities. "No, they won't. But we can't just wait for them to make their next move. We need to be proactive."
Zack, who had been silent up until now, leaned forward. "What do you have in mind?"
Cole took a deep breath, his gaze shifting between his friends. "We need to hit them where it hurts. The underground has control over most of the regional fight circuits, but they rely on keeping fighters under their thumb. If we can disrupt that, we can weaken their grip."
Lina frowned, her brow furrowing. "Disrupt how?"
"We find other fighters who are stuck in their system," Cole explained. "Guys like me, who want to break free but don't know how. We get them on our side, start building something bigger. If enough of us stand up to them, the underground won't be able to control us."
Ty let out a low whistle. "You're talking about starting a revolution."
Cole shrugged, though he knew how ambitious the plan sounded. "Call it whatever you want, but it's the only way to fight back. We can't take them down alone, but if we get enough people behind us, we might have a shot."
Zack nodded slowly, his expression thoughtful. "It's risky, but it could work."
Lina leaned back in her seat, her arms crossed as she considered the plan. "And where do we start? These guys aren't just going to roll over because we ask nicely."
"We start by finding fighters who are tired of being controlled," Cole said. "Guys who've been forced into underground fights, who've had their careers ruined because they wouldn't play by the rules. We get them on our side, and we start pushing back."
Ty grinned, his excitement starting to show. "I'm in. Let's do it."
Zack gave a small nod, his quiet approval clear.
Lina, though still skeptical, finally sighed and smiled. "All right. But we're going to need more than just a few fighters to take them down."
Cole smiled, feeling a flicker of hope for the first time in days. "Then let's get to work."
