Chapitre 2: The Calm Before The Storm
RING RING RING
The annoying melodic sound of a phone alarm was heard playing. The obnoxious sound resonated off of the walls in the little cramped apartment room. A boy quickly arose from his sleep almost robotically and with one swift motion of his hand turned off the alarm.
The boy's name was Moraine. As he was laying down on his comfortable and warm bed he thought to himself, 'It's morning already?'
It was dead set in the middle of winter and it was snowing outside. Although he didn't want to go to school that day, a feeling that he had felt countless times before, he decided to anyways. He jumped up from his bed into the surrounding cold of his room. Holding himself and shivering as he slowly walked to the bathroom. He brushed his teeth at the sink and rinsed himself off in the shower.
After doing this he walked over to his closet and put on his school uniform. His uniform consisted of a black polo collared shirt, with khaki colored cargo pants, and a black set of dress shoes. As it was winter the students were also provided by the school with a thick navy blueish pullover hoodie.
As the boy was leaving he speedily grabbed and wore his backpack, he also grabbed the keys to his apartment off of the hanger next to the door. He exited his apartment room, locked the doors and proceeded to carefully walk down the small, yet steeply inclined concrete steps below to the first floor.
He waited at the bus stop and once it arrived, he boarded it. Sitting down at his usual seat, his mind went blank and he dozed off. Maybe due to the short amount of sleep he had received the night before. Flashes of the sprawling and spilling of blood entered his mind in an instant. He quickly snapped out of it, 'What the hell? I knew I shouldn't have stayed up so late.' He thought to himself as he chalked up the weird event to him just being sleep deprived. Little did he know that this was just a sign of the imminent future which awaited him, and all of mankind.
