Chapitre 214: Solving a Conflict? V

"Jun-san strikes me as a practical person, flexible and efficient. He analyzes, others and himself, sees mistakes and adapts to do better. His stubbornness is more about his goals, not his way of reaching them."

"Your father is almost the exact opposite. Stuck in his way of doing things, willing to accept mistakes but tends to make similar ones and stiff about principles and traditions. I believe this is in part due to how long he has lived as a being with a nearly limitless lifespan" Shuri mentioned the contrast between the two men.

"And that is were the true issue lies." She pointed out.

"To Jun-san, Barakiel is someone would would have let his family get killed because of his way and his principles. He would grieve, blame himself and regret his inability to protect us, to be there to defend us, but he would not change his ways all the same, he would still be the same stiff man."

"Today, I saw that during the conversation and a realized his view is not wrong. Your father saw it too and that is why he had no answer and could only brood in silence." Shuri concluded.

Even though she was no longer a little girl, Akeno was still but a young woman in the spring of her youth, not even an adult in some countries, though she could grasp most of what her mother explained, her understanding was still a bit shallow.

Basically, everything seemed like her father's fault to her and while that was technically true, it was less a matter of will and more a matter of the situation being exactly crafted by destinity itself to poke at the weaknesses of the fallen angel.

It was a situation Barakiel was not mentally equipped to deal with as it was incredibly hard for a being so old to change his ways when they had stuck to them for so long.

Even Azazel and Michael who were behind many critical changes in the ways their factions did things still did not veer off from their core character and for Barakiel to take Jun's route of solving his wife's family issues, was indeed something greatly removed from his core character.

Still, even if she did not understand everything, she would in time and if it was change her father needed, then she would help him as well. For now though, Akeno's goal, encouraged by her mother, was to chase her love.

And so, after Shuri helped her daughter pack some essentials, Akeno was off to Kuoh. MEanwhile, Shuri went back inside her house to deal with the other mentally burdened individual in her household, the foolish husband that stole her maiden heart.

'Aish . . . How innocent was I to fall for such a fool . . .' Shuri wondered to herself with a wry smile she would never show to her daughter but still went to take care of him without a hint of regret present in her mind.

For all his flaws, Barakiel was the man she loved, who she married and the father of their daughter. So long as Akeno was safe and happy, there was no storm Shuri could not weather. Her husband had made a mistake but was saved by the consequences from Jun.

Now that the problem was clear however, the shrine maiden was ever more determined to fix it and since that required her husband changing his way, that that would be done, even if she had to use her wifely authority and some "tough love" to make him understand.

With these thoughts in mind, Shuri returned to the room where she and Barakiel had their previous discussion with Jun, or more like her husband received a verbal lashing from him, only to find him still brooding.

*heavy sigh*

She released and intentionally loud sight to get Barakiel's attention and just as expected, he immediately turned to his wife.

"Shuri . . . Do you think he was speaking the truth?" He asked in a low gruff voice.

"Don't ask what you already know, the answer will not be any different." His wife replied and his shoulders dipped further.

"Is my way truly that outlandish and idiotic?" Barakiel continued to ask.

"To Jun-san? No doubt, you are very different people but I doubt others would view in such an extreme way." Shuri responded, not completely denying the idiocy in his previous actions but also giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Many people would not view Barakiel's ways as wrong, especially is they were of the more righteous variety. Likewise, may would find Jun's methods far too extreme and out there, even if they produced undeniable results.

"But you would have died." Barakiel said.

"Maybe, Jun-san always seems oddly sure of things, probably one of his many powers is some kind of foresight. But even if I died, our daughter survived and a strong girls like her would have found her way." Shuri comforted.

Barakiel was getting more comfortable and brighter with his wife's care but the good part was now over and it was time for the disciplining.

"However, that does not change the fact that your actions would have made our daughter suffer if Jun had not intervened nor the fact that you acted badly towards our savior and dear friend which made your daughter suffer in a different way so I believe some punishment is in order." Shuri said with a dark smile.

In another situation, the fallen angel would be complaining about Aken's attachment to Jun seeing his wife's expression, another thought occupied his mind.

'I don't think this punishment will be the enjoyable kind . . .' Was Barakiel's last clear thought.
