"Why are you afraid of me?" Lancer asked as he stared intensely into Jade's eyes.
A chill ran up Jade's spine as they flinched and placed the spoon and bowl on the table with shaky hands. Lancer's glare caught Jade's attention as they turned to the wall. But the intense gaze of Lancer caused Jade to feel weighted down.
"You won't believe me--Ah-choo!" Jade sneezed.
"That's your actual reason, is it?" Lancer said in an unamued tone.
Jade shook they're head.
"Then what's your real reason?" Lancer glared.
They drove their hand under their pillow before Jade pulled out a golden cross necklace. Jade presented the cross to Lancer, and his expression became twisted. Lancer gritted his teeth as his eyes widened.
"You know what this is..." Jade uttered.
"Why do you have it?" Lancer glared.
"Because it's mine--Ah-choo!" Jade sneezed.
"You're lying!" Lancer growled.
When they returned the cross to the pillow, Jade sighed. "I expected you wouldn't believe me."
"How? Explain!" Lancer demanded.
"It's difficult to explain--Ah-choo!" Jade sneezed.
"I am Kirei Kotomine, though I am not exactly Kirei Kotomine," Jade explained.
Lancer's gritted teeth stopped as he calmed himself.
"Can you be more clearer?" Lancer sighed.
"I don't know much myself. My memories are still a complete mess, but I do know that I possess all of Kirei's memorise." Jade said.
"You possess his memorise?" Lancer repeated.
Jade nodded. "Yes, I do-Ah-choo!"
"But what you said about you not being that damn priest?" Lancer questioned.
Jade shivered at Lancer's words. "I am also other people too, but I don't have their memories yet."
"And what about your own memories?" Lancer asked.
Jade shook they're head. "I don't have recall of anything instead of Kirei's memories."
Lancer sighed as he rested his chin in his palm. "Another thing, how are you that man? Just because you have his memories doesn't mean they are also your memories as well."
They flinched and crouched forward, clutching they're chest tightly. Jade covered their mouth as blood spilled through they're fingertips.
Lancer's eyes widen before he stood up straight. "Hey! Are you alright?! What's wrong?!"
Lancer halted his pursuit when Jade held out they're hand. Lancer stood in shock as he studied Jade's expression. After Jade managed to calm they're crimson coughs. Jade stared at Lancer while discarded they're blue track jacket. Lancer stepped back as he focused on Jade's chest.
"Please, don't tell Iskander about this," Jade pleaded.
Lancer did not respond. He was too distracted by the huge gap in Jade's chest. Blue veins glowed from out Jade's chest to up they're neck. Lancer and Jade shared a long stare before Jade lightly chuckled.
"Speechless are we, Mr Demigod?" Jade coughed.
Lancer clenched his fists and glared at Jade. As Jade smirked, he recognized Kirei Kotomine's devious grin.
"It must amuse you to see the person you hate to suffer like this--Ah-choo!" Jade remarked.
"Stop it," Lancer gritted his teeth.
"Ah~ But I still don't have Kirei's face, do I? That's why you probably feel bad for me." Jade coughed.
"Stop it," Lancer growled.
"I'm sorry you feel that way, I suppose--Ah-choo!" Jade half-heartedly chuckled.
"SHUT UP!" Lancer roared as he pointed his spear through Jade's chest.
The eyes of Lancer widen as he points his spear away, while Jade shrugs they're shoulders. Lancer glared down at his spear. What does he think he was doing? Was Lancer really committed to killing Jade because they reminded Lancer of Kirei? What has gone wrong with him?
"Are you going to try to kill me again, Lancer?" Jade coughed.
"No..." Lancer uttered as he de-materialized his spear.
"Well, it's not like you could." Jade shrugged they're shoulders.
"Because if you haven't noticed, I have a hole in my chest. No heart remains." Jade smirked as they waved they're hands through they're chest.
"Also--" Lancer slammed Jade into the wall before she could utter another word.
"OKAY! I GET IT! I BELIEVE YOU NOW! JUST STOP TALKING!" Lancer yelled while he faced his head downwards.
The room fell silent for a few long minutes before Lancer released Jade's shoulders. Jade then tapped Lancer's shoulder, causing Lancer to look up at Jade. The malicious expression that was on Jade's face was completely gone. It was as if the person Lancer talked to before didn't exist. Jade then pointed behind Lancer. As Lancer saw what Jade pointed out, he realized that they were pointing at a blue tracksuit.
Lancer sighed as he reached the tracksuit. "Hey, little janitor--"
"My name is Jade, Jade Quinn--Ah-choo!" Jade sneezed.
Lancer stared at Jade before he shrugged his shoulders. "Okay then, Jade. I still have a question I can't wrap my head around."
"What is it?" Jade said as they zipped up they're jacket.
"How are you alive?" Lancer asked.
Jade stared at Lancer before they hummed. "I don't know. I only know that I'm going through the same pain as Kirei Kotomine when he died."
"Are you going to died?" Lancer asked.
Jade shook they're head. "No. My chest is probably going to heal itself after my cold blows over--Ah-choo!"
"How badly does it hurt?" Lancer asked.
"If I have to be honest, I think the pain numbed after I caught a cold," Jade said as they patted they're chest.
"So you had this pain before you had a cold?" Lancer raised his brow.
"I had this pain when I first saw you. It was also when Kirei's memories came back." Jade sighed.
"When you saw me?" Lancer questioned.
Jade nodded they're head before they remarked. "My first memory was you skewering me like a kabob."
"Uh... sorry?" Lancer sighed.
"Don't apologize. I was born evil, after all." Jade chuckled.
"What about now?" Lancer commented.
Jade stared at Lancer before they showed an intimating grin. "Maybe~"
Lancer felt chills down his spine as he summoned his spear.
"Nah! I'm just pulling your leg!" Jade laughed.
"You scared me." Lancer sighed as he de-materialized his spear.
"So what now, Lancer?" Jade said as they laid on the bed.
Lancer huffed before he walked over to the exit. "I won't say anything, but..."
Lancer stopped in front of the door and turned to Jade. "For now on, you'll have to be my friend. So no running away from me, got it?"
Jade sighed. "That seems like a fair deal."
