Chapitre 131: Plane Armour fit for a Dragon

Just as Aurelia said, in just a few days, both the adamantium and flarium arrive. After eating it, much to the horror of the envoys who brought the rare metals, I was able to use my creation skill to construct much more than what I had just eaten. Leaving Aurelia to deal with the escorts, I return to the workshop and make a new foundry out of flarium. Unlike the one Aurelia had arranged for me as a place holder, this flarium foundry is several times larger as I intend to melt a large block of adamantium. Inside the foundry is another container made of flarium and it's about half full of adamantium.

With everything ready, I begin to heat up the foundry. Since I don't need to care for foundry melting, I rapidly increase the intensity of the flames being released into the foundry but despite my efforts after an hour of this, I can't find any sign of the adamantium melting. After bringing the heat to as high as I possibly can the and after peeking inside, it just barely shown signs that it's starting to melt.

After several more hours, the adamantium has been reduced to a liquid state. After doing some tests over the past couple of days, I found that if the temperature of the liquid metal is too high, the anti-corrosion will evaporate before it can properly apply its effects. This wasn't a problem for the copper test since it had a comparatively low melting point, but when I tested titanium, it was able to grant the finished product the proper effects. To combat this, I remove the flame and begin to chill the inside of the foundry. After I feel that it is cool enough, I mix in the anti-corrosion liquid before the metal solidifies. With a bit of stirring I drop in more adamantium blocks and restart the flame, closing the lid and waiting for the next batch of adamantium to melt.

With another round of waiting complete, I redo the process from before to mix in another batch of the anti-corrosion liquid. This time, however, I don't restart the flame and let the adamantium solidify. Thankfully, this part is significantly faster than waiting for it to melt. With the adamantium now returned to its solid state, I remove it from the foundry and leave the eight by eight metre cube of adamantium in the corner and prepare to make another one.

After another round of this, I now have too large cubes of adamantium to work with. Wiping off some sweat from my forehead, I take a quick look out the window to see stars shining in the distance. Just making these to blocks alone took an entire day, but this should be the least time consuming part and if everything goes well I should be able to finish within one or two days.

Having already decided to make two rockets, one for each of my sides, I begin to use my manipulation skills to shape the adamantium into the rockets I used to see on TV. Shaping them to by wide in the middle and leave a relatively small opening for the exhaust. Making the final touches, I begin to connect the two rockets, leaving an open hole in the middle of the connecting piece for my true form to fit into.

Returning to my true form, I slip into the rocket and once again begin testing. Having filled the chambers with hydrogen, I lit it up, creating a large explosion that shakes the workshop causing the rockets to go flying into the air at a speed I wish I could move at. In a sense, this was a success... if I ignore the broken ceiling and the fact that the rockets took off without me, having slid right off of my body.

Having been woken up by the explosion, Aurelia and Lia come rushing in, both yelling, "Forget about that! Do something about the rocket before it lands and someone gets hurt!"

"Yeah, I'll be right back," I say, shifting back to my humanoid form and rushing out to deal with the rocket.

As I head outside, I hear a long bang, as I find that the rocket has made contact with the road just outside the workshop. Good thing it's late and there isn't anyone around. With the help of my manipulation skill, I drag the rocket back into the workshop before anyone else arrives, leaving the crater in the ground for someone else to deal with.

Before I can get around to improving the design of the rocket, Aurelia has me repair the ceiling. This doesn't take more than a minute though, as I immediately decide on my next design. Durability isn't a problem and my manipulation skill can deal with the weight of the adamantium, thus the biggest issue is keeping myself attached to it.

Since the belt idea didn't work like I was hoping it would, I begin to make more anti-corrosion adamantium for my next idea, a jet. Although I'm calling it a jet, that isn't what this really is. I intend to make a large hollow tube for me to fit into and attach the rockets to that. Essentially, this is going to be an adamantium armour made to fit a Spirit Dragon and will be shaped like a plane.

I spend the next couple of days making large blocks of anti-corrosion adamantium, and once I finish the final piece, I bring them and the rockets out towards an open area near the city. The workshop we rented, is simply too small to handle this project and I don't want to fix the place if something goes wrong again.

The assembly process goes by quickly and smoothly thanks to my abilities. There are only six openings on the entire structure, two for my eyes, one for my mouth and nose, and two more for each of my wings. Right below the area where my wings are supposed to come out is where the two rockets are located. Using my manipulation skill to open an entrance, I enter and shift back to Dragon form, closing the entrance and using my size modification to make sure I fit just right.

Everything fits well, and in theory, this should work. The only problem is that I don't want to test this and end up somewhere far away and not be able to find my way back. There shouldn't be a problem at using an attempt at crossing the landbridge as a test run, if it doesn't work then we just try again later, and if it does work then great we made it across.

Using the soul connection, I send word to Lia, {everything is ready, let's head over to the island and get ready for the next parting.}

So my copy of Trails of Cold Steel 4 has arrived, so the next few chapters might have odd release times due to me staying up later and late to play it over the next few days.

Have a nice day everyone.
