While Xiu Ying submits the materials to the assignment hall, Liu Yang and two other disciples stepped out from the shadows, and Liang Chen could feel the tension in the air. He knew that something was about to happen, but he did not expect to be ambushed. This Liu Yang is at Qi Refining realm level 1 while the other 2 are at Mortal Realm levels 8 and 9 respectively.
"What do you want?" Liang Chen asked, his voice steady and calm.
"You are not qualified to be with your girl. She is a beauty that deserves to be on my side." Liu Yang said, sneering. "I want her, and I'll make sure to turn you into a waste."
Liang Chen frowned, his eyes flickering with anger. He had heard about the rampant bullying within the sect, but he had never thought he would become a victim of it.
Without another word, Liu Yang and the 2 other disciples charged toward Liang Chen. But Liang Chen was ready for them. With a burst of qi energy, he unleashed his full strength at Qi Refining realm level 1. However, the power released is equivalent to a Qi Refining realm level 3
The force of his attack sent Liu Yang and his disciples flying backward, their bodies crashing into nearby trees. They groaned in pain as they struggled to stand up.
Liang Chen stood tall, his eyes blazing with righteous anger. "I won't let anyone take Xiu Ying. Over my dead body!" he said, his voice ringing out across the clearing.
The three disciples looked at each other and then turned and fled, their tails between their legs. Liang Chen watched them go, his heart pounding in his chest. He can't believe he just said that. It came out naturally as well. Like a true protagonist in a novel or movie
He knew that he had just made enemies, but he didn't care. He would do whatever it takes to protect Xiu Ying.
Once Xiu Ying is back, both of them walked through the outer sect, they noticed that there were many other disciples training and practicing various cultivation techniques. They felt a sense of belonging as they were now part of the Mystic Cloud Sect.
After passing the demon beast hunting task, they were officially recognized as true outer sect disciples. Liang Chen and Xiu Ying were then directed to head towards the east outer sect peak to meet Master Wu, who was the peak's supervisor.
As they walked towards the peak, Liang Chen noticed a tall and imposing figure waiting for them. This person was Master Wu, who was known to be at the Core Formation realm level 4. Liang Chen couldn't help but feel a little intimidated.
"Welcome, young disciples. I am Master Wu, the supervisor of the east outer sect peak," said Master Wu, his voice booming and authoritative. "I have heard of your successful completion of the demon beast hunting task. You have shown promise and potential, and I am sure that you will be able to achieve great things in our sect."
Liang Chen and Xiu Ying bowed respectfully, feeling honored to be in the presence of such a high-level cultivator. Master Wu then explained to them the rules and regulations of the sect, as well as the benefits and privileges that come with being a disciple.
"You will be given access to our sect's resources, such as cultivation techniques, medicines, and equipment. However, you must also follow our sect's rules and obey your seniors and superiors. You must also strive to improve your cultivation and contribute to the sect's growth," said Master Wu.
Liang Chen and Xiu Ying nodded in understanding, feeling determined to work hard and make the most of their time in the Mystic Cloud Sect.
"Very well. You may now proceed to your quarters and rest. Tomorrow, you will begin your training in earnest," said Master Wu.
With that, Liang Chen and Xiu Ying bowed again and took their leave, feeling excited for the future and the opportunities that awaited them in the Mystic Cloud Sect.
As Liang Chen and Xiu Ying were settling into their new life as outer sect disciples, they were given a warm welcome by Master Wu at the East Outer Sect Peak. Master Wu was a respected elder of the sect and was known for his wisdom and experience.
After exchanging pleasantries, Master Wu began to explain to them the importance of spirit stones in cultivation. He explained that there were different qualities of spirit stones, ranging from low-grade to high-grade and that the higher the quality, the more effective they were in enhancing one's cultivation.
Master Wu also gave them contribution jade cards, which he explained could be used to accumulate contribution points. These points could be earned by completing assignments given by the sect and could then be used to exchange for equipment, cultivation techniques, and pills at the Contribution Hall.
Liang Chen and Xiu Ying listened intently, realizing that the sect was not only a place of cultivation but also a place where one could gain resources to aid in their cultivation journey. They thanked Master Wu for his advice and guidance and left the East Outer Sect Peak feeling motivated to earn more contribution points and improve their cultivation.
As Master Wu observed Liang Chen and Xiu Ying, he noticed that both of them seemed to possess a natural talent for cultivation. They didn't seem to require any help or guidance from their seniors, which made Master Wu suspect that they were both exceptional geniuses. What he doesn't know is that Liang Chen has the best cultivation teacher/encyclopedia at his disposal called the Universal Guide.
Master Wu knew that geniuses like Liang Chen and Xiu Ying were often targeted by other sects or factions who would try to steal their cultivation techniques or even kidnap them for their potential value. He decided that he would secretly protect the two of them to ensure that they could continue their cultivation without any interference.
"Both of you possess extraordinary talents," Master Wu said, his voice serious. "You are both destined for great things in the future. But with that potential comes danger. Other sects and factions may see you as a threat and try to harm you. That's why I have decided to protect you both. You can continue your cultivation with peace of mind knowing that you have someone looking out for you."
Liang Chen and Xiu Ying were both surprised by Master Wu's words but felt grateful for his protection. They thanked him and promised to work hard in their cultivation to live up to his expectations.
Liang Chen and Xiu Ying made their way to the assignment hall, eager to take on their first mission as outer sect disciples of the Mystic Cloud Sect. As they entered the hall, they were greeted by a bustling scene of disciples of all levels, each clamoring for their own tasks.
They approached the counter and were greeted by a middle-aged woman who asked for their outer sect badges and jade cards. After a brief check, she handed them a small scroll and said, "Your mission is to collect a spiritual herb called the spring flower in the nearby mountains. It is a level 1 spiritual herb. The herbs you need are marked on the scroll. We need at least 5 or more. The more herbs, the better and more contribution points. Be careful of any demon beasts you may encounter on the way."
Liang Chen and Xiu Ying thanked the woman and made their way out of the hall. They unrolled the scroll and examined it closely, taking note of the different herbs they needed to collect and their locations in the mountains.
As they made their way toward the mountains, they discussed their plan of action and how they would handle any demon beasts that may cross their path. Liang Chen was confident in his strength at Qi Refining realm level 1, but Xiu Ying was still at Mortal Realm level 8 and may need his help in case of danger.
The sun was high up in the sky as they finally reached the base of the mountain. They looked up at the towering peaks ahead of them, taking a deep breath before starting their ascent. They knew that this mission was just the beginning of their journey in the Mystic Cloud Sect, but they were determined to complete it successfully and prove themselves as capable disciples.
