~ With Alex ~

Whether they were ordinary players or industry insiders, everyone had been closely following the developments of "Battlefield" and its mysterious developer, Epic Games. Despite their varied backgrounds, they all shared one common sentiment – confusion.

Typically, even indie game developers had some sort of social media presence to generate hype prior to their game's launch. However, "Battlefield" and Epic Games seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, like ghosts in the night.

This sudden emergence only increased in intrigue and interest when Alex Carter, the mastermind behind Epic Games, registered an official account on X, a social media platform. He had uploaded the game's details, and even got verified as a notable figure. The announcements on the game interface of the official store had immediately captured the attention of countless players.

The first message from the official blog left many players both stunned and excited.

"Thank you to all the players around the world for supporting 'Battlefield'! I understand that many of you have been wondering about the background of Epic Games, and why 'Battlefield' seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. Well, here's a simple explanation.

Strictly speaking, 'Battlefield' is essentially an indie game that doesn't seem like one. Why? Because I had no external publisher or investor. Meaning to say, all development costs were personally funded.

The entire game had taken nearly two years to complete. Apart from the core gameplay framework and mechanics, many assets were outsourced from third-party providers. We decided not to pre-announce the game because every bit of funding went into its development, and we wanted to earn the trust and anticipation of players with a finished product.

When the official version was completed, we had no money left to cover server costs. Which is why we first released the initial Prologue Campaign, in order to garner player awareness of the game and initiate the pre-orders to gather enough funds.

As a passionate gamer myself, I felt that the current market lacked the type of games I wanted to play. It's normal for game developers and publishers to seek profit, but a true game should bring joy and emotions to its players while doing so!

Many modern games now focus solely on monetization, creating environments where only those who spend heavily can dominate. This leaves the average players feeling like mere accessories. Epic Games, and in extent 'Battlefield', was born to change that.

Your support has shown me that this path is viable. While I cannot predict the future, I hope that everyone can experience the joy and emotions that 'Battlefield' aims to deliver.

With that being said, the full game will be released by 6:00PM tonight! The 10% discount will also only be available until then! Once again, thank you all for your support!"

Alex had carefully considered this X post before releasing it. It served to endorse Epic Games, ensuring that all the aspects of "Battlefield" could withstand scrutiny. As he planned to develop more games in the future, it was crucial to lay a solid foundation for Epic Games' reputation now.

Additionally, these words genuinely reflected his beliefs and were intended to generate more hype for the game. The announcement quickly went viral among the gaming community.

"Wow! You mean to tell me that 'Battlefield' is an indie game?! Are you sure this isn't an April Fool's joke?"

"When you think about it, it actually makes sense!"

"I checked the business registry, and Epic Games really seems like a shell company! It was probably created just to register copyrights and trademarks!"

"This is amazing! Major developers should take note of what a real gamer-driven project should look like!"

Many players who truly loved gaming were thrilled. The gaming market was saturated with pay-to-win games that treated players as cash cows. Although some may enjoy such games, many felt trapped with no alternatives. They longed for a different kind of game, and now it seemed one had finally emerged.

One person had stood up to make a difference, and this sparked excitement throughout. Of course, there were some who suspected that this was merely a clever marketing ploy. Nevertheless, the curiosity of those who heard about it was piqued.

The best way to learn about the game, aside from purchasing it, was to watch the live streams of popular streamers. So, at 6:00PM tonight, many streamers who had planned to stream the game had found that their viewership numbers were skyrocketing.

Leading the numbers was Aiden, one of the first streamers to cover the game. "Finally! The server is about to go live! The wait is over, guys. It's time to dive right back into the war!"
