Chapitre 115: Test Subjects
Back in the underground laboratory of Blush, she was holding a syringe in her hand before raising it up towards a rough looking man who was chained up against the wall. "Experiment subject 3 of experiment code 101 beginning."
The needle pierced into the skin of the man who let out a short grunt and showed a look of hatred and defiance.
Despite his shown aggression, Blush remained indifferent to whatever he was feeling.
It was not something new for her to have such a reaction from anyone she had experimented on.
Each of them were criminals who had been captured by Blush or someone related to her.
She usually targeted the worst of the worst who were involved with human trafficking, kidnapping, murder and several other crimes who were able to keep getting away with what they were doing.
If nobody was taking action against them and they were being left to keep causing harm to innocent people then it was better to just have them captured and used as test subjects.
There were many fierce criminals that came from all kinds of places and had committed all kinds of heinous acts yet when they arrived in her underground laboratory, they were nothing more than test subjects used to test her latest experiments.
If they were lucky then they would survive the latest experiment testing a new combination of genes from a number of different animals or races.
Not everyone was so lucky since some got a bad result that resulted in a really bad mutation or had lead to their death.
There were some that died in great agony while others passed on peacefully.
Some were unable for endure the transition from their previous state into their new one while others were able to transition smoothly without any complications.
If Blush was testing something already refined then there were less chances of problems reoccurring so people exposed to them just had to undergo the transformation followed by the various tests conducted on their bodies.
If it was something relatively new then there was always risks involved which was why she prioritised testing them on such captives before trying it on anyone else.
Just as the man opposite her had started to let out some slight grunts of pain and their body started to begin changing, Blush closed her eyes detecting the most subtle changes around her.
Her magic and psychic abilities were both put into practice right away in order to scan the tiniest changes that occurred within and outside of the body of the man.
His heartbeat increased rapidly as the change began to take place followed by a sudden shift in certain internal organs and bones as the body was being restructured.
The man was previously a normal male with healthy skin with a light tan, brown hair and black eyes but his features started to change further as time passed.
His heartbeat which was beating rapidly suddenly came to a halt showing signs of death closer to the transformation process.
Just as Blush was about to let out a sigh and complain about yet another failure, she noticed a very subtle change taking place.
The body which was dead had no heartbeat yet many organs and other body parts were still transforming and showing activity.
Upon reaching completion and there were no other additional surprises to be had, Blush started testing the finished result thoroughly.
There was a range of durability tests and other testing to check to see if certain abilities or enhancements were gained.
Once she had went over all of the data, she walked over to the changed form of the male that was in a deep slumber.
Their hair had turned white and their skin slightly paler which made them look very unwell.
Once she had gained enough information, she wrote down in her notes that she would test the same experiment again a few more times before approving for its use on others.
Blush raised her hand towards the head of her latest test subject allowing her spell to deepen their state of sleep before using her spells to read through their memories.
She absorbed whatever was useful while dumping the useless parts aside in other shelved areas of her mind palace in the form of books.
Slowly Blush started to subtly change the memories of the man creating a new set of memories that replaced his current ones.
He was no longer himself but someone who was given the perfect memories of someone who was indebted to Blush and was ready to dedicate their life to Alchemi.
Many others like him had undergone a similar process of having their former selves completely removed and replaced giving them more loyalty to Blush.
Such memories allowed for them to be within the right frame of mind to willingly sign their lives away since they were so indebted to Blush or had been heavily loyal to the cause of Alchemi to the point that they were willing to give their all for the goals of Blush and Alchemi.
The memories usually consisted of memories of their early childhood or important turning points in their lives.
Each one was a point which could have shaped their character for better or worse while others were major turning points that had lead them down the lives they had been living.
One major struggle they had which got no help and lead to their decision of taking the path of a criminal was overturned to her advantage as their new memory was replaced with memories of their worst moments turning out for the better.
Blush was getting much better at creating the most subtle of changes within the memories of a person to the point that she could achieve such manipulation of people to make them have their past sins erased and them being loyal to her due to their gratitude for the help in their time of need.
By doing what she had done, she would gain yet another loyal transformed human who would be added to the many that already existed and were already busy carrying out various tasks.
Some were assigned to investigate some things or look for certain well known ingredients while others were assigned to a specific person to offer assistance to them.
Some former criminals were given over to her half siblings to assist in what they were doing while others were assigned to protect other key assets.
Blush got him to sign the contract with ease followed by beginning her next phases of testing until she was finally satisfied with the final result.
She looked at some serums that were contained in glass vials sitting in front of her then smiled. "Finally a good result. I am glad that this one had not been cutting it too close to the estimated deadline."
