Chapitre 9: Hwang Nari

MEMPHIS ENTERTAINMENT

After signing all the required paperwork, Hwang Nari was escorted down to the lobby by Manager Yoo. Nari initially worried about the right method of breaking the ice between her and Manager Yoo but surprisingly it was Manager Yoo that broke the ice as she escorted Nari out of the conference room and into the elevator on their way to the Legal department.

She smiled at Nari as the doors shut and she said, "You can relax, Nari. it is not like I am that strict, we will be working together", She turned and grinning continued, "I manage Vixen just call me Unnie. Don't be so formal, I am so happy to meet you. Miss Kim doesn't easily compliment people, I was surprised when she said so many good things about you. It got me very curious."

Nari blushed and looked down, placing her right hand above the elbow of her left hand, she squeezed gently. A second later, when their eyes met, she smiled and swept a few stray strands of her behind her ears before looking at her sneakers-covered feet. Suddenly feeling self-conscious, "I hope I lived up to your expectations".

Manager Yoo smiled and looked ahead, "you did, I can't wait for you to meet the girls. They were so sad when Danbi and Mun-hee left, this should lift their feelings."

"I also look forward to meeting them. When am I to move into the dormitory?"

"next week. It is good that you all get to know each other. VIXEN is set to debut in a few months, Their debut was initially delayed by the scandal then there was Danbi and Sun-hi leaving but now that the lineup is finalized. We can decide on a debut date, I am so glad", she rubbed her palms together, with a wide smile. Leaving together early will help you all develop good group chemistry".

"I will inform my family and get ready", smiling, Nari looked up at the floor number.

"Good, let us go get the paperwork settled", Manager Yoo said as the elevator door opened.

Hwang Nari left thirty minutes later after all the paperwork was settled, she took the bus back home. Her Aunt and cousin were seated on the white leather couch facing the television. They were watching a daytime historical drama when she got home, they turned around as she walked in.

"You came back early, do you not have practice today?" her aunt asked.

"I took a leave from my manager, I had an audition", Nari walked closer to them and sat on the edge of the couch.

"well that explains why you breezes in and out of here two hours ago", Chae-rin muttered.

Her aunt gazed from her daughter to her niece, eyebrows raised, "you must have been in such a hurry", she smiled as she saw the smile on Nari's face, "it must have been successful, Congratulations", she said with a wide smile

"Thanks, Aunt Eun-Hye. I was so surprised when I got the call from Memphis Entertainment".

"Memphis Entertainment? You didn't tell me you were in contact with that agency", her news knitted as she heard that.

"I wasn't in contact with them, the three agents I approached turned me down. I received a call from the new CEO earlier_"

"The New CEO?" Warning bells immediately went off in Hwang Eun-Hye's head at the mention of CEO. Her heartbeat increased as she worried that her niece had been scammed by fraudsters. She was suddenly scared of facing her sister-in-law in the future. "Nari, please tell me you didn't sign a contract with a fake K-pop agency. why would a high-ranking CEO call a trainee? Your Mother will kill me!"

"Aunt Eun-Hye please relax. I can assure you that I am not being scammed. I just got back from Memphis entertainment's Seoul office in Hongdae. I just signed an exclusive contract with them, I will be debuting in their new girl group Vixen".

"Wow, that is good", she placed a hand on her chest to steady her breathing, "For a second there I was scared that I would have to call your mother this night. I think it is good that you are finally debuting, Memphis Entertainment may not yet be at the same level as GK Entertainment but it is still a Top Entertainment company. The New CEO had made a name for herself abroad with her solid management skills. I think she will do a better job than her father".

She felt that her aunt's response was better than she had predicted, she thought that she would have to try hard to convince her aunt to accept her joining Memphis Entertainment but luckily there was no need to worry. Her lips curved up as she unlocked her phone and opened her contact. "I will call mum now and tell her the good news_"

"No, I will handle that. Your mother may not be in Korea but she has contacts in the entertainment industry. The Fashion industry and Entertainment are intertwined after all, plus She had been very attentive to the K-pop industry because of you. She must have heard of the scandal involving Memphis Entertainment. it will take more than your word to convince her to let you join that company".

Hwang Nari brought down her phone, mouth opened slightly, "..... you are right why didn't I think of that", she looked down at her phone and closed the contact list, "I will leave that to you then". She stood and walked to the door, pausing halfway and looking over her shoulder. She said, "Um.... about Memphis Entertainment..... how come you had no objection given their last scandal?. Aren't you worried about the scandal".

Hwang Eun-Hye chuckled, "oh that, there is no need to worry. A friend of mine is a shareholder there, she had only praises for President Kim Ae-Ri and this is someone that only cares about profit. Plus in life, sometimes you have to take risks. Life is not always smooth sailing but full of bumps. You are an adult, I should trust your judgement. Plus like Chae-rin said, with me looking down the shoulders of your manager. Who will dare mess with you?"

Mari smiled, "Thanks, aunt Eun-hye"
