Chapitre 12: Chapter 12: Did Ruth Dawn Bring a Man Home?
"Shut up, don't you think you've embarrassed us enough?" Ruth Dawn roared, breaking off William Cole.
William Cole opened his mouth but said nothing.
Ruth Dawn and didn't bother to pay attention to William anymore. She pulled out her phone and dialed Dwight Brews: "Hello, Dwight, are you alright?"
"Haha. I'm fine, that kid didn't do anything to you, did he?" Dwight's voice came from the other end, sounding very gentle.
"I...I'm sorry, I didn't expect this to happen." Ruth Dawn felt somewhat guilty.
"It's alright, we're good friends. It's natural for me to protect you. You have to be careful next time, it's very dangerous for a girl to get drunk outside." Dwight comforted her with a laugh.
Ruth Dawn felt warmth in her heart.
"Right, pass the phone to William, I have a few words for him." Dwight continued.
Ruth Dawn was taken aback and hesitated for a moment.
Still, she handed the phone to William: "Dwight wants to have a word with you."
William took the phone. Dwight's voice came through, "William, you've messed up my plans. You piece of junk, remember this, I won't let you off the hook.
As for your wife, if I didn't get a chance this time, there's always a next. Three years of marriage and it seems you've never even touched her hand, right?
Don't worry, I might just help myself to a little taste, hahaha!"
Dwight's laughter was full of mockery.
"Damn it! Dwight, you dare touch my wife.
We're not finished!!!" William felt blood rushing to his head.
"William, what nonsense are you talking about?
Are you out of your mind?" Ruth Dawn snapped, snatching her phone back from William.
Dwight on the other end had already hung up.
Ruth Dawn, infuriated and choked with anger, didn't utter a word and stormed out of the hotel.
She was going to the hospital to check on Dwight.
William sat on the ground, broken and dejected, unaware of how much time had passed.
He left the hotel and drove back to his and Ruth's mansion.
Jjust as he arrived at the entrance of the mansion.
There sat Dwight's black BMW right in front of him.
"Ruth..."
William's heart skipped a beat. Why would Ruth bring Dwight home so late?
Rushing to open the mansion gate, William spotted a pair of men's leather shoes left right at the entrance.
There seemed to be no one around as the lights on the first floor were turned off.
A light shone from the top of the stairs.
It was evident that Dwight had gone upstairs.
The second floor was Ruth's bedroom!
William's forehead throbbed as his mind buzzed with anxiety.
He got up to check out what was happening upstairs but hesitated, scared of what he might see.
Instead, he sank back on the couch, lit a cigarette, and started smoking in silence.
An entire pack of cigarettes, ten boxes, two hundred sticks...
William smoked them all.
With a headache and red eyes, William kept his gaze fixed on the staircase.
