Chapitre 23: Uncertain
The clan of Bloodmaw was prospering well, but by Devastate being here do things become tricky. They will discover how greedy Baldur is. The tyrant was without a doubt a large problem for everyone not just them. Baldur wishes to claim everything and by doing so, many will suffer.
Baldur was a monster, more so than the blind which said a lot.
Helm looked at Devastate with uncertainty, Dingo on the other hand was checking out his wounds. The behemoth had went through hell and back to get here. Thing now was if he could be trusted or would he turn on them next.
Bloodmaw looked at Devastate as he stopped in the center of camp. "I will help your injuries but don't try anything."
Devastate nodded while looking around, it was a good set up from what he could tell. Belle softly moved which got Devastate's attention, he lowered his head letting her off.
Scarface watched Devastate, the look he gave the raptor was something he couldn't believe. Maybe he had changed. Anyone and everyone can change when you least expect it.
Gambit looked at Belle in surprise, he some what approached her. "Do you trust him?"
Belle smiled as she looked up at Devastate, "I do. I trust him with my life."
Gambit looked at Devastate who laid down behind her, he heaved a big sigh.
Gambit slowly looked at Belle, he noticed her tail. "You both are hurt."
Belle smiled, "He is more hurt than me."
The behemoth huffed out a laugh, "See to her first."
Belle looked at him as she was about to say something did Gambit speak up. "I will see to you both, don't worry."
Belle looked at Gambit with a genuine smile but of course she softly wiped her eyes as tears slowly began to fall. "Thank god, I was honestly worried. I don't want him to die I really don't!"
Gambit looked at her, he could tell that she had been through a lot. He looked at Devastate who looked at Belle with worry, obviously her tears affected the large brute.
"I got plenty of herbs, I will see to him first since his injuries are pretty heavy.", reassured Gambit as he spoke to Belle.
Belle nodded as she sobbed out, "Thank you!"
Swiftscale looked at Devastate in surprise, he had some nasty wounds. He also noticed the faint red markings painted on his body, they looked like tribal paintings.
No doubt that he came from a clan who marked their members.
Ebony looked at Swiftscale, she softly looked at Grim who was unloading all that they caught from the hunt. The food situation was taken care of which was good. Blind beasts seem to have vanished around the camp, which was another thing.
Lockjaw clearly had something to do with it, when they were hunting he scared quite a few of them off. She guessed it was a thing that he did, he was blind so he did things so differently from them.
Harmony was happy to see Lockjaw, Ebony couldn't help but watch them. Of course her heart grew heavy when she did. She looked at Swiftscale again and she walked over to him.
"How did the fishing go?", she asked the baryoynx curiously.
Swiftscale looked at her surprised but he smiled happy, "It went well!"
Ebony grinned as she said, "I can't really fish all that well maybe you can teach me?"
Swiftscale was about to say something but Grim spoke up, "You still need to practice your hunting."
Ebony looked at Grim, her tough girl expression emerged. "I hunt better than you big mouth!"
The baryoynx looked between the two individuals stunned, he just wanted to talk to Ebony was that to much to ask!
Grim snorted loudly looking at her, "You run around like your head fell off."
Ebony stomped over to the rex, she got right in his face or tried too. "I am faster than you! I know how to hunt big guy!"
Swiftscale became fidgety, Ebony was a tough girl and just seeing her like this made his heart race.
Grim looked at her, he smiled at her which was a major surprise. "Then show me you can."
Ebony's head moved back due to his smile, "Uh, I don't need to show you..?"
Helm looked over at Grim and Ebony, he looked at Swiftscale and sort of spoke up. "Remember what I told you Swifty!?!"
Swiftscale blinked and became red, as he looked at Helm the brute winked at him before walking away. Just by him doing that gained Ebony's attention along with Grim's.
"Wait what did he tell you?", exclaimed Ebony excited as she walked over to Swiftscale. "I didn't know you and Helm were friends!"
The baryoynx looked at Ebony embarrassed, he also felt Grim's eyes on him. That feeling alone was enough to crush his body. "Uh we talked but it's nothing to worry about!"
Ebony looked at him and she gave him a sweet smile, "Tell me please?"
Swiftscale's face went extremely red at her smile, "U-Uh I can't...!"
Devastate looked at the two with little disgust, but he flinched to Gambit putting herbs on his wounds. Belle looked panicked when he flinched, "Careful!?!"
Devastate looked at her with a smile after he had flinched, "I'm alright."
Belle looked at him as she softly touched his side, "You sure?"
The behemoth nodded to her before looking at Gambit, the raptor sure did know what he was doing. The herbs were mashed into some sort of paste, that was placed on his wounds.
Admittedly, it hurt like hell but he could feel the herbs actually doing something to his wounds.
Belle looked at Gambit as she asked, "Could you teach me how to do what you're doing?"
Gambit looked at her, he looked at Devastate's wounds as he said. "Sure, I don't see why not?"
Belle smiled as she softly said, "Thank you I just wanna learn how only cause he always gets hurt and I want to help him in anyway I can."
Gambit looked at her as he applied the herbs to Devastate's chest. "That is nice of you to want to help him."
Belle giggled softly, "He's important to me so I want to help him!"
Gambit looked at her funny, "Important how..?"
Devastate looked at Belle with a stern look, but of course Belle continued. "Important to me like my heart soars when he says my name!"
Gambit and Devastate made priceless faces, only thing different was that Devastate's face became as hot as lava. "...~"
Gambit looked down before laughing, "NO WAY!?"
Belle tilted her head at Gambit's laughter, Devastate on the other hand glared at the raptor still fairly flushed.
Emotions sure were running high in the camp, but it was all good and harmless fun somewhat.
Bloodmaw looked at Devastate before looking at everyone else, the clan was taking to the two of them well. He would learn more about Devastate before making his final judgment.
Ebony looked at Swiftscale her face was close to the baryoynx, "Tell me! Please don't make me beg!"
Swiftscale looked like a trapped creature though he could easily run away, perhaps his brain was already fried. "You are begging!?!", replied Swiftscale with his voice clearly cracking.
Grim glared daggers at the baryoynx, he was visibly pissed off.
Dingo laughed at the two couples, "Aye!?! Love is in the air!?!"
Helm laughed, "Be careful Dingo love is a force you don't want to mess with!"
Lesion looked at everyone confused, Jr made a grossed out face.
Scarface couldn't help but laugh at everyone, the conversations and the laughter it was very welcoming.
Harmony looked at Lockjaw with a smile, "I wish I could go back to when we first met."
Lockjaw made a low growling sound which made Harmony laugh, clearly he said something yet no one could understand him besides Harmony.
Bloodmaw after sometime couldn't help but chuckle, everyone in the clan were clearly losing their minds. Who would of thought that a rex and raptor could cause such chaos in the camp.
Gambit stopped putting herbs on Devastate's wounds, he looked at Belle still snickering. "Let me see your tail."
Belle did so quite innocently, she was rather trusting.
Gambit took her tail and popped it in place, this made Belle yelp.
Gambit smiled, "I just set yo...!?!"
Belle jumped when a massive foot stepped on Gambit, "!?!"
Devastate looked away as he moved his foot off of the unconscious Gambit.
Swiftscale looked over in surprise much like Ebony, as Ebony kept looking Swiftscale snuck away.
Grim snorted loudly as he glared at Swiftscale, Ebony looked to Swiftscale gone before turning around and chasing after him. "HEY!?!"
Helm looked at Swiftscale with a grin, Dingo looked confused before looking at Ebony chase after Swiftscale. "Weird couple."
Helm snickered, "You have no idea."
Though life was hard it was moments like these that they clearly cherish, life at the time doesn't seem all bad. With the right amount of trusted members, the harsh days ahead don't seem so harsh.
Swiftscale kept running away from Ebony who was quickly catching up to him. They ran a bit out of the clan. The baryoynx blinked however when he was grabbed from the side of the woods, this startled Ebony greatly.
"Swiftscale!?!"
Ebony blinked as she looked at a suchomimus who had Swiftscale in their arms. "!?!"
The suchomimus had a big smile on their face, and if you tried really hard you could see hearts in the air around their head. "Swiftscale do you know them..?"
The baryoynx looked at her with a comedic expression, "No, I don't..."
The suchomimus was a pretty color of red with golden spots and stripes throughout their body. Helm having heard Ebony scream came running with Dingo close behind.
Both brutes looked funny at the suchomimus, while Swiftscale looked at the three of them with clear "help" written on his face.
"Excuse me?", asked Ebony.
The suchomimus blinked, their eyes were a stunning emerald color. "Oh sorry~", spoke the suchomimus with a heavenly voice as she put Swiftscale down.
Helm looked at her quite confused, "Uh, you are not a threat are you?"
Dingo laughed, "I don't think so! Unless hugs kill ya!"
The suchomimus giggled as she spoke, "I heard laughter and came to check it out. The evil beasts around here have became less so I was able to come out~"
Ebony blinked looking up at her, "I take it you don't like fighting?"
The suchomimus looked at the side with a guilty smile, "No I don't. I usually get a lot of food and hide away until the next time."
Dingo walked back to camp, "Come with us! We don't mind!"
Helm blinked after Dingo before laughing a bit, "Bloodmaw would have to decide but you don't seem threatening so..?"
Swiftscale felt a little odd from being hugged by a complete stranger, Ebony however smiled.
The suchomimus clapped her hands with a beautiful smile, "Yay! I won't have to sleep alone!"
Bloodmaw looked over to see a new face, he blinked quite surprised but he smiled lightly.
Dingo and Helm walked in with Ebony close behind, Swiftscale kept close to Ebony while the suchomimus followed.
"Welcome to the clan.", spoke Bloodmaw as he looked at the new face.
The suchomimus smiled, "Thanks~"
Helm looked at Dingo who chuckled, "I can totally read the leaders head!"
Swiftscale looked at Ebony and then at Bloodmaw, "She I think wants to join."
The suchomimus blinked before looking at the side, "If that isn't to much trouble?"
Bloodmaw chuckled, "Not at all, you seem like a gentle individual."
The suchomimus giggled, "Please call me, Ruby~"
Bloodmaw nodded, "Very well."
Swiftscale looked at Ruby as he said, "Why did you hug me?"
Ruby giggled, "I couldn't help myself you were to cute!"
Ebony looked at Ruby in a funny way before looking at Swiftscale. "You still need to tell me what Helm said to you."
Swiftscale looked at her surprised, "I can't!"
Ruby giggled softly at the two, "You both are to adorable!"
Swiftscale looked at her as he looked away fidgeting with his claws, Ebony looked at her with wide eyes.
With a new member having joined, the clan had never looked stronger. However, in the distance away from the clan the clouds had never looked darker.
