As darkness covers the lands, a even greater threat is occurring. However, it was not against the clan of Bloodmaw but against the tyrant known as Baldur. This tyrant was dealing with a serious problem. How serious was it? Quite serious. It was the beginning of change, his dreams of ruling these lands will no doubt be harder to obtain.
After the fight with Smaug the many who follow Baldur have seen enough, only cause this monster that was their leader was not as strong as he says. Sure, he could not feel pain but the clan have seen that he wasn't as strong as he says he is.
Sawtooth watched the chaos happen, so many members that follow Baldur have grown distant from Baldur's ruling. Of course those that they have captured fled as well, they all fled when the question of strength started to happened.
Baldur was furious, he lashed out losing his control over the clan more quickly than putting out a fire.
"YOU ALL WISH TO DEFY ME!?!", roared Baldur at the clan members who began talking about him behind his back.
Sawtooth looked at the many brutes, he even saw some of them scoff and turn to leave.
"DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE!?!", roared Baldur as his rage grew. It says a lot when many fear you, but once you lose your power and show that you can't even defeat one individual do things begin to decline.
As a leader you work hard to better improve yourself, but if you become a tyrant you can never improve. You remain the same, and you don't care about others. All that you have is power and intimidation, but once you lose it you lose everything.
Fear was another thing, but fear can only go so far. Eventually, those scared of you will no longer fear you.
Baldur stood there in disgust and rage as he watched many clan members, his clan members leave. The markings that were clearly upon their bodies, they would wash off no doubt.
"FINE!?! LEAVE!?! I DON'T NEED YOU!?!", roared Baldur as he lashed out at a tree at his side.
The tree made a sharp noise as it plummeted to the ground, the clan that killed many clans was now basically nothing. This goes to show that you need others to respect you, if they all only fear you it does not mean that they respect you.
It just meant that they would leave that or stab you in the back.
This was the second time that this has happened, after the fight against Smaug as already mentioned did things begin to change.
Baldur had his clan stop to rest a few days ago, things were the same as usual but many members began to talk. They looked at Baldur with clear judgement within their eyes.
Baldur's wounds were beginning to heal, but something happened that would hinder his wounds from healing. As the clan settled in and began their fun that they normally do every night did a riot happen.
Many brutes lashed out and attacked Baldur, though Baldur was strong and didn't feel pain was he still overpowered. One brute against fifteen, they had pinned him down and down right humiliated him in front of all to see. This of course made Baldur furious, or rather enraged.
The fifteen brutes were not alone in this riot, they had a few females to help out as well. They stole a lot of food and all of the herbs that the clan had. These herbs were powerful and had remained in the clan when Crusher was still ruling.
Baldur badly hurt, quickly let his rage overcome him just like it had before against Smaug. The tyrant quickly broke free of being pinned and attacked everyone. The females ran along with the fifteen brutes, clearly overjoyed that they stole from Baldur.
The tyrant who always enjoyed killing didn't kill those that started the riot as well as humiliated him and that was what fueled his rage.
Baldur didn't trust no one after that, he even killed random members of his clan for no apparent reason. The more he did this, the quicker his dreams of being king fell.
Sawtooth was there to see it all, he watched as the clan became nothing. Everyone was gone and all that was left was him and Baldur.
"I don't want to leave.", spoke Sawtooth as he looked at Baldur.
Baldur looked at Sawtooth with a sharp glare, his gaze was as sharp as fangs. "You don't."
Sawtooth shook his head, he was there with Baldur from day one. He remained and he still would.
Baldur smirked with a cold smile, he looked around before he looked back at Sawtooth. "Can I trust you?"
Sawtooth stared at Baldur, he nodded giving a twisted grin. "Yes.", his voice was a sharp hiss.
Baldur smirked, his missing fangs had stopped bleeding a few days ago. The tyrant turned around to fully face Sawtooth, "I will stop at nothing to rule these lands. You know that."
Sawtooth nodded, "Yes, and I will help you out. I know my ways in making others listen to me."
Baldur gave a cold grin, "Do you?"
Sawtooth nodded, his gaze was rather sinister as he smiled. "Just give a chance."
Baldur chuckled, "What, you wanting to prove to me that I can trust you."
Sawtooth nodded, "That's right."
Baldur smirked, "Very well."
Sawtooth looked at him with a excited glint in his eyes, he looked to the side as he said. "I will not fail you." Sawtooth turned and began to walk, Baldur followed after him with a curious smirk.
The calls of the blind rang out throughout the lands, Sawtooth walked through the darkness like it was natural for him. Baldur followed his red eyes watched Sawtooth closely with interest.
Sawtooth stopped as he looked in a direction, voices could be heard. Baldur hearing these voices glared, he knew who they were.
Sawtooth looked at Baldur with a smirk as he put a long claw to his mouth. A indication to be quiet. After he did that did he walked forward, Baldur watched from the shadows made by the trees.
The fifteen brutes were laughing, obviously making fun of Baldur. The females who helped them out was there. It was evident that Sawtooth could track others very well. They had stolen from Baldur and Sawtooth saw interest in what they stole.
Speaking of Sawtooth, he approached them with a smile. "I wanna say that you all sure put the run on Baldur."
One of the brutes laughed, "You think so!"
Sawtooth nodded with a smile, "Yes. I want to toast you guys if that would be alright?"
All the brutes laughed they were a mix of rexes and allosaurus, but one rex waved Sawtooth over clearly all for the toast. "Sure!"
Sawtooth kept his smile as he walked to a stream, this little camp was near a stream and they were also near a poisonous herb as well.
Sawtooth skillfully ground these deadly herbs with his long claws with a dark looking grin. He took something off of his side, it looked to be a canteen made out of hide with fangs attached to it.
Baldur watched Sawtooth from the shadows, he didn't know what the spinosaurus was doing.
Sawtooth returned to the brutes, he handed them the canteen that had poisoned water within it. He smiled as he said, "Pass it around! I will drink it last! Oh, and make sure to share it with the ladies!"
The brutes were blind to the danger, this poisonous herb that was within the water would paralyze the body and cause heavy suffocation if consumed. It was a slow and agonizing death.
Sawtooth watched with no regret for what he was doing, he knew that these individuals humiliated Baldur and he tracked them down the moment they had ran away.
Sawtooth was extremely good at using herbs, but he found interest in the deadly herbs as well. He was a crazy bastard. Why, only cause he would use these deadly herbs on him to get a sense of what they do.
He had done this since he was a teen, it was a hobby for him but he always found it fun. It was a rush for him. Sawtooth was some what immune to these deadly herbs now, a crazy hobby would no doubt save him in the long run.
Why did he find interest in herbs? He wanted to be a herbalist but being a spinosaurus kept him from that dream. Only small individuals could practice herbalism that or herbivores. For a large carnivore to be a herbalist was more or less a waste of strength.
Herbalism was a great practice but it was considered to be a dishonorable practice for large carnivores. This world was hard for everyone, the blind beasts were clearly a ongoing problem but clans and their rules were more of a issue. Sawtooth wanted to change that, and by helping Baldur rule would he change the rules.
One of the brutes coughed up blood, and the rest of them were not far behind. "WHAT DID YOU....!?!"
Sawtooth looked at the side and he grinned, "Baldur?"
The poisonous herbs was working hard and fast on the brutes who humiliated Baldur. The females were struggling to breath as blood poured from all of their mouths.
Baldur looked at Sawtooth impressed the tyrant turned his red eyes on those that escaped his wrath. They were the cause of him losing his clan. "I am going to enjoy this.", grinned Baldur as he approached the struggling to move individuals. He looked like a demon as he approached, his claws eager to tear them apart.
"PLEASE HAVE MERCY!?!", screamed a coughing allosaurus.
Loud screams of pain and death filled the air, Sawtooth watched with interest as he picked up his canteen. The water that was poured from the canteen was a bloody coloration due to the amount of herbs he had put in it.
Baldur tore one of the brutes heads off with his claws and brute strength, he showed no mercy to them.
Blood poured from the decapitated head, the body twitched from losing its head.
Baldur smashed one of the females on the head, her skull was crushed. He looked at the others taking his time in killing them, after all the herb kept them from moving.
Sawtooth looked inside of the canteen, he smiled seeing there was still some left. He turned to look at Baldur as he chugged the rest of the poisoned water.
Rebellion was one thing, karma on the other hand was a complete bitch.
Baldur smirked for he about beheaded every single one of the brutes who humiliated him, while crushing all of the females heads.
There was one brute left, he was the one who agreed to the toast and was all for it. He was coughing violently as he looked up at Baldur, the blood that came out of him was almost black. His eyes were clouded due to the suffocation of the herbs.
Baldur looked at Sawtooth with bloody claws and feet, "You want to kill him?"
Sawtooth looked at Baldur and he smiled, "I proved myself to you, besides this is your revenge!"
Baldur grinned as he looked down at the vulnerable brute, "At least suggest something!"
Sawtooth looked at Baldur and he grinned, "I have a idea!"
The brute looked at them coughing violently and crying, "P-please have....mercy....!"
Baldur picked up the brute and followed Sawtooth as they walked away.
Baldur threw the brute to the floor, red eyes from blind beasts came from the darkness of the tree line. The brute seeing blind beast coming toward him began crying for mercy but it wouldn't come.
Baldur smirked watching from afar, the blind beast charged in on the vulnerable brute. Sawtooth watched the scene as he smiled, "Lets work hard on making you king hm?" Sawtooth held the things that the brutes had stole within his long claws.
Baldur smirked nodding, the both of them turned and leaved as the brute screamed into the night. To be eaten alive was probably one of the worst ways to go.
If Baldur were to be king it surely would be hell on Earth.
This chapter shows the downside to being a blood thirsty but greedy tyrant. We also learn a bit more about Sawtooth! I hope you liked it!
What a horrible thing to do. Baldur really is as evil as they come. If he was to get back in power, there is no telling what he would do to everything and everyone!
