There was no way that she was going to relax in a place like this, as badly as her body wanted sleep she couldn't bring herself to close her eyes. Goliath was not to be trusted, and she knew that from the start when she first met him.
Cripple stared out of the little crack for what felt like hours, when really it was only a few minutes.
She blinked hearing a loud noise and she lifted her head up startled. It took her a moment to realize that it was the Evil One who was still slamming against the wall. He was looking for a weakness within the cave walls and she could only imagine what would happen if Goliath and the Evil One meet up face to face.
Cripple also didn't like to keep calling him as the Evil One, even though he looked like a demon from hades she felt like he had to of had a different name. She slowly looked down praying that the little rex was alright, he didn't deserve this kind of treatment.
No one did.
But life was making it difficult for both of them, and it showed that it was not about to let any of them rest.
Cripple looked out of the thin crack that separated her from freedom thanks to the cell she was in. But she blinked taking notice of a herbivore, that she could faintly make out.
Long black neck, with a white face going down half of their neck, with long claws and stood rather tall. It was a therizinosaurus which was a rarity to see here in a dump like this. The therizinosaurus was solid black despite their face, neck, and tail.
White face with a white streak, deep red in color neck, and a silver coloring upon the tip of their tail.
Why would Goliath need a herbivore unless?
Cripple heard a giganotosaurus shout at the herbivore who looked at the carnivore unfazed. The giganotosaurus glared at the herbivore, "Take care of the weak runt!"
The therizinosaurus merely spoke back calmly, his voice never showed fear. "I am aware of my task. I will fulfill the order."
Was he going to treat the little rex!?!
"Hey! If you hear me, please let me know how he is doing! Please!", spoke Cripple as loudly as she could genuinely worried for her little companion.
"Shut up you brat!", growled the giganotosaurus toward her way.
The therizinosaurus having heard her words replied, "But of course."
Cripple smiled happy to hear that, and she gladly ignored the brute who snapped toward her direction.
Goliath had this therizinosaurus here for medical purposes, and the herbivore looked to be quite mature and cool unlike all the other residents who lived in this clan.
The giganotosaurus glared, "Just hurry up!"
The therizinosaurus didn't flinch at his words nor did he show fear for he was emotionless, from what Cripple could tell he stood his ground. There wasn't anything that scared him?
The therizinosaurus disappeared from Cripple's line of sight, all she could see was the giganotosaurus sneering at her before leaving as well after the herbivore.
Cripple could only wait until the therizinosaurus returns and gives her a update on the little rex. She was a teen and here she was looking after a orphaned rex, she may as well be the adoptive mother of the little one.
Cripple laid back down after getting riled up once she heard that someone was going to treat the rex. She hoped he was not hurt to badly.
Time passed by all to slow for her there, she hated how slow it was. She became restless and uncomfortable just waiting to hear back from the therizinosaurus.
When it became to much for her did she hear a voice. "Excuse me, ma'am?"
Cripple blinked and she sort of laughed, "Ma'am?"
The therizinosaurus replied, "Yes, you are a female yes?"
"I am but I am just a teen?", she replied trying to stifle a laugh.
The soothing voice of the therizinosaurus replied, "Teen or not, I must treat you with respect."
Cripple scoffed with a smile though he couldn't see it, "Anyway? How is he?"
"He is fine, I will make sure that he recovers.", replied the herbivore earnestly.
Cripple sighed in relief, she was glad to hear that he was going to be okay. "Thank you really...!"
"Of course. You are genuine with your heart, not many are like that.", spoke the therizinosaurus.
"What?", questioned Cripple. This guy was so bizarre yet she felt safe with him. Could he be trusted?
"You feel for creatures no matter who or what they are. I think you would make a good leader one day.", replied the therizinosaurus.
"Yeah right?", she replied in a sarcastic tone which the herbivore picked up on quite quickly.
"Sarcasm, you don't believe me?"
Cripple looked at the boulder with a bewildered expression that divided them, she was some what feeling odd with the herbivore now. "Uh, no..?"
The therizinosaurus chuckled at her response, "Okay. I guess we will have to wait and see hm?"
Cripple looked through the crack curiously, her eyes looked up to catch sight of the herbivores eyes. His eyes were a misty teal like blue as he looked down at her.
This herbivore was really tall, but she didn't feel threatened by him. It was just that hard to read aura that he gave off, she had never seen a herbivore quite like this one before.
"W-What is your name?", she asked. She felt her body cringe immediately after she stuttered.
"Ahnyx.", he replied rather quickly before looking back.
"What are you doing! You got more work to do!", snarled the giganotosaurus.
Cripple looked at Ahnyx silently, she blinked when he said. "We will talk again very soon."
Ahnyx moved away as he followed after the giganotosaurus.
What did he mean by that?
Ahnyx was a mysterious individual, and he was unlike most herbivores. Cripple hadn't conversed with a herbivore before but it was a nice change.
More than a hour passed by after Ahnyx left with the giganotosaurus she looked up puzzled once she heard screaming, the screams were shrill and loud. She looked out of the crack in complete surprise, her eyes went wide as she saw the grunts running away from something. Cripple didn't need to know who it was, after all she had heard the Evil One rage outside. She knew his roar all to well.
There was a guarantee that the Evil One found a way in or merely made his way in. Either way he was coming in and no one could stop him.
Panic. Fear. Pain. Helplessness.
She saw everyone show such emotions, as the clan quickly went up in a panic did Cripple notice her boulder was being pushed by someone. She blinked and smiled seeing the little rex run inside toward her.
Cripple looked up to see Ahnyx standing there as he smiled calmly toward her, "I told you we would talk again soon."
"Yeah, but not this soon!", she some what laughed before blinking. "Wait, did you have something to do with this?"
Ahnyx shrugged his shoulders, "Perhaps?" The herbivore didn't look fussed about it though as he looked behind him.
The Evil One was relentlessly attacking anyone in his way, all of the grunts who work for Goliath began fleeing evacuating the cave system. It was cowardly to say the least but it was probably the right call since they couldn't do anything against him anyway.
Goliath was furiously yelling orders unaware that his god was about to lay judgment upon him, but his words would fall on deaf ears as his throat was grabbed violently by the Evil One's unforgiving jaws. Blood poured from the fresh wound as the Evil One tore out his throat in a smooth movement.
Though, Goliath was large and strong he had his own weaknesses. He was old and foolish in his beliefs. By believing in something, it doesn't mean that others believe it. He was greedy and power hungry.
He honestly thought that he could change the world.
But one must realize, life is short. Think about your actions and choices before you do them. You only got one chance and that was it.
Some don't realize this, others believe that they are immortal and can't be touched.
One day they will fall much like everyone else.
Cripple looked at the Evil One who was glaring sharply at the struggling to breath Goliath, blood was the only thing that he was getting and not the air he craved.
Cripple carefully approached the Evil One, she looked up at him curiously.
Ahnyx stood in a straight posture watching them with his arms at his sides, he looked down at the little rex who happily followed after Cripple.
Goliath's breath ceased suddenly as the Evil One smashed his foot against his head which quickly crushed his skull.
Cripple looked away lightly before looking up in surprise as the Evil One walked away, but it was not his walking that surprised her but his voice.
It was so sinister and eerie, gravelly almost.
"Let's go."
She didn't know that he could talk, she was frozen in place before looking at Ahnyx who merely smiled lightly. "Shall we?"
Cripple slowly walked after Ahnyx, she was still unsure of what happened. She honestly expected that she would be held captive for so much longer, than she originally thought. Not only that but the Evil One can talk!?!
Ahnyx had to of had something to do with it? That, or he teamed up with the Evil One?
Something didn't feel right though she shouldn't complain? She was free and wouldn't have to worry about Goliath anymore.
Cripple looked at the little rex with a small smile, that was right she was supposed to name him whenever they would of gotten out of there!
The little rex was a big eater, but of course he needed to eat a lot. She couldn't help but think of a name for him but it was rather silly in a way?
"How about I name you Gullet?"
The name made him tilt his head confused, but it was not long before he started squealing and squeaking toward her in a excited manner. Ahnyx was watching them from over his shoulder with a little smile.
The Evil One continued walking forward, once again silent. It was hard to believe he could speak, but he did. This meant that he was not a blind beast and was in fact a tormented soul who was constantly attacked without mercy. By being attacked constantly, it didn't surprise Cripple that he attacked and killed everything that he saw.
Cripple looked at Ahnyx and then at the Evil One, where were they going now? They were clearly not enemies since they were walking fairly close together.
She didn't know but she couldn't help but wonder about a few things.
Her mind would always do this after a intense situation, if nothing happened they would still be there being bossed around by Goliath and his sick beliefs.
The thing that made her head spin was how quickly they got out of there. Without a doubt some planning had to of been done. Some serious planning!
Cripple glanced up at Ahnyx and then at Evil One, she honestly believes that the both of them had something to do with the escape.
She would ask one of them when the time was right or she could ask now?
It was still midnight, daylight was not to far behind. Cripple took notice that they had left the cave system, and to see the trees brought a sense of comfort to her.
"Do you two know each other?", she asked this curiously.
Ahnyx looked back at her calmly, "No, but we could come to know one another one day."
Cripple looked at the Evil One slowly, would he talk again? By the time she thought he wasn't did he speak again.
"I don't know of anyone, but he did help me find a weakness to the cave wall."
Ahnyx chuckled, "I figured that you needed a hand? Besides, I didn't care much for any of them for hurting and humiliating a lady."
Cripple looked at Ahnyx now, did he see them hurting her? "You saw that?"
Ahnyx nodded calmly, "Yes. To hurt someone by forcing them into a silly deal is something I don't agree with. You had every right to decide, but what is the point if they treat you like you are nothing."
Cripple blinked a few times and before she could speak did Ahnyx say.
"Also, you had every right to cry. Don't beat yourself over it."
Now that was embarrassing, he saw her cry.
Cripple carefully looked at the Evil One as she asked, "Do you have a different name?"
She watched as he looked back at her slowly, she honestly didn't know if he would answer her or not.
"I go by many names that I stopped caring about them.", his voice was so harsh in tone.
Ahnyx then said, "I believe she wishes to call you something different?"
Cripple looked at Ahnyx with wide eyes, did he read her mind or something?
"I don't care for names but if she wants to call me by a different name then she may."
Cripple looked further surprised, he didn't care if she calls him something?
Were the both of them related? She really wanted to know. "I also want to know if you and I are..."
"We are."
Cripple looked at him fast, then he remembered her? Then that meant that he was her father.
Ahnyx seemed to be enjoying himself, conversations clearly were his favorite thing to listen too.
"I lost you sometime ago, and when I lost you I did not believe if you would survive or not."
Cripple didn't know what to say but she was also curious. "What happened...dad?"
Should she of said that? She called him dad but he also said he didn't care if she wanted to call him something else.
"I was fighting against a strong brute, I always fight against anything and everything in my way. But that brute was the one to tear the side of my face off.", her father didn't even flinch to her calling him dad. Probably cause he was fine with it, and he was some what glad to have his daughter back.
But his words opened up something to her, there was something else out there that could cause such a heavy wound upon his face.
The world was full of demons that they could not see.
What an interesting turn of events! Cripple is related to the beast who turns out to be sentient like her! What kind of beast could cause so much harm, where it could easily rip off the side of your face?
Then their is the herbivore known as Ahnyx, who is a interesting individual to say the least!
I hope you liked the chapter! ^^
