"Are you sure you didn't want to talk to her?", asked Grim as he looked at Lesion.
Lesion looked at him silently as he replied, "Yeah, she made her choice."
Grim looked at Jr and Fiala before closing his eyes and nodding.
Lesion looked away in silence, he dare not look at Fiala with Jr. Though she tried to talk to him, he couldn't stomach her responses. He honestly still had feelings for her, and just hearing her talk made him want to talk to her. Beg for her to change her mind.
Would it do any good? He doubted it. After all she had made her choice, and he had to respect it. As difficult as it was.
Lesion was learning from Grim for his own reasons, only cause he had vast knowledge about strength and how to fight. Grim never showed fear, and he wanted to be like him. To never cower and take whatever life throws at him.
Though he was missing one of his arms, he didn't want that to hinder him. Not anymore.
Why Fiala chose Jr, he wouldn't know. So he of course assumed why she did so. It had to be because of his missing limb, that and Jr had already made up his mind to be stronger. Though he didn't want to marry her, he decided too.
It affected him more than he thought, that she would pick Jr over him. He couldn't help but see himself as weak to her and his family so that was why he was learning from Grim. He wanted to prove that he was not a failure and that his missing limb had nothing to do with it.
Swiftscale looked down after seeing Fiala with Jr, he honestly didn't know what was going to happen in the future.
The baryoynx couldn't help but be proud of both Lesion and Jr, the both of them were coming into their own. Jr has shown great interest in hunting as well as ambushing. What made him happy was that Jr wanted to learn, and he would always thank him afterwards.
Jr was powerful as well as he was patient. Swiftscale honestly could see Jr being a capable leader, while Lesion was becoming a intimidating force. That was to be expected since he was learning from Grim.
Some days Swiftscale couldn't read Lesion or what was on his mind. That bothered him to be honest. He was so use to Lesion being happy and open, but now he was sort of emotionless.
Swiftscale looked at Bloodmaw who seemed to be more affected by this than he was. Lesion didn't really talk to his father much anymore after the decision was made.
Ebony looked at him with a clearly upset expression, and he looked at her silently in return.
The both of them if not all of the clan was worried about Bloodmaw.
To see their leader so upset was rather heartbreaking. All they could do was pray for things to get better, that one day they could get along again and be a family.
As the clan of Bloodmaw had their own concerns, Hawkeye and his clan were dealing with a major problem. Before the sun had risen over the horizon, they were attacked by the carnivores.
Panic and disarray was all that was happening now. Hawkeye witnessed many of his people die, and all that was left was the two therizinosaurus, Rain, and himself.
The carnivores had came out of no where, and they dodged all of the holes as well. They actually looked to be well organized with a plan unlike the last time when they attacked.
Hawkeye was tied up much like the others who were left, his body was covered in deep cuts and wounds as he looked at his attackers with a cold stare.
Baldur smirked down at him, his red eyes were cruel. "Looks like the tables have turned."
Sawtooth grinned as he began taking their herbs. "See what happens when we have a plan?"
Baldur smirked, as he looked at everyone else.
Wraith stood before Rain, her eyes looked ready to do some harm. Scarecrow and Fiend were going around the remainder of the camp looking for any survivors.
While Juggernaut and Razer began to make meals of the herbivores that have died during the attack.
To put it simply it was a senseless murder
that had happened, and Hawkeye would remember the carnivores as horrible individuals. They were always horrible in his eyes.
"Can I kill this herbivore?", asked Wraith as she smiled looking at Rain who shivered completely in fear.
"DON'T TOUCH HER...!?!", before Hawkeye could say anything more was he smacked on the side of his face. A long deep gash appeared on the right side of his face.
"HAWKEYE!?!", screamed Rain as tears fell from her eyes. She flinched as Wraith pushed her over.
Baldur smirked licking the blood off of his claws, he chuckled watching Hawkeye slowly get up as he glared with his lone left eye.
Hawkeye looked at Rain weakly, the blood pouring from his face. There was no doubt that he may not survive, just seeing her for the last time would ease his heart.
"Rain look at me...", weakly spoke Hawkeye.
Rain looked at him as she shivered, her eyes were locked onto his left eye. Her eyes shook in her fear for her life, and seeing Hawkeye so beaten up broke her spirits.
Baldur took a hold of Hawkeye's throat tightly, as he pushed him down.
Rain whimpered loudly, she desperately wanted to scream out but that would do little good.
"Let's keep them alive.", chuckled Baldur as he looked at Wraith. "It is fun watching them squirm!"
Wraith looked at him before she smirked, "Sure."
Baldur smirked as he walked away, "I'm going to check out their camp. This will be home base until we move out."
Wraith crossed her arms as she watched him go, her eyes shifted to Sawtooth with a small smirk. His plan really worked, that was very impressive in her eyes.
For a spinosaurus he was really something else.
Wraith stood watch of the herbivores while everyone else secured the camp that once was the herbivores camp.
Rain shifted herself to be closer to Hawkeye as she sobbed, he was laying on the ground and was struggling to remain conscious. His injuries were great, and she feared for his life.
How could carnivores be so cruel? She felt so helpless.
Hawkeye had done so much for his clan, though they had little herbivores who could fight. He tried to hold his own. Usually his kind fled from the first sight of danger but he stood his ground.
Hawkeye didn't turn away from a fight, he stared at everyone in the eye.
It was rather risky to do that to carnivores, but that was what made him the way that he was. He was honorable in his actions, all that he did was for his people.
Rain slowly looked at the camp that use to be their home. The camp that they had perfectly set up was gone, and everyone was gone. There was no mercy, just only ill intent.
Rain looked at Hawkeye who was always protecting her, now he was hurt. What would she do if he dies?
Shivering violently, she didn't want to think about it. She had to be strong just like him, but how could she when she couldn't do anything.
Rain looked at Wraith cautiously, her eyes looked away immediately when Wraith looked at her.
"There are no survivors.", smirked Fiend.
"We got them all? Good.", smiled Baldur as he looked around the camp that they had claimed. "Go ahead and rest up."
Fiend nodded as he smiled, Scarecrow chuckled as he said. "Finally we got the upper hand on them herbivores."
Baldur chuckled coldly, "They are on the bottom of the chain for a reason."
Razer laughed hearing what Baldur had said, Juggernaut smirked.
Baldur's clan having a win under their belt would not stop until reaching the very top. By winning each fight, they would grow greedier. Wanting more than what they already have.
It mattered not if many die, if they were not strong enough to survive then to them they were better off dead. In their world, being weak was just utterly pathetic. As Rain watched them claim the very home she has come to love, she looks at Hawkeye with concern.
As things change, many will see changes in people. Never would a person be happy, and if they were happy it would not last.
Everyone always wanted something else. In a way every single person was greedy, or that was so in this world.
Greed was a horrible thing, it even changed the appearance of how some people would look at the other.
Though everyone was becoming conscious these feelings and thoughts were different from anything else that they have felt before. For so many years they never had a thought, or had strong feelings to do something.
It was all new to some, while to others it was another thing that weakens a person.
There was so many different people and they all did different things. They were never the same, that much was clear.
The only thing that was the same was good intentions or bad intentions. Everyone could do bad while everyone could do good.
"Smaug?", asked Cobalt.
Smaug hearing his name looked at Cobalt curiously, so much time had past by. Sharpclaw who was the leader of this clan was back on his feet. Though he was feeling better he didn't want to let Smaug go.
Sharpclaw had asked him to remain in the clan and help him lead it. This was a big surprise, only cause he didn't expect to still some what lead it.
"What is it?", replied Smaug.
Smaug had actually become a part of this clan which was something he never would of expected. He had been alone with his pets for so long, that he got use to it. Now he was having to get use to being in a clan.
"I'm glad that you are staying with us.", spoke Cobalt who walked up to stand beside him.
Smaug looked at her with a brow raised. He felt like teasing her, he's actually been teasing her a lot lately.
"Really?"
Cobalt nodded with a smile, she looked at him with such joy in her eyes.
This was cause the clan was struggling when he arrived, but now no one could tell if it was struggling. Everyone was eating well, and the blind beasts were not a problem anymore.
Smaug had really brought life back to this clan.
"Huh, well I am sure you would miss me if I had left.", smirked Smaug as he glanced at Cobalt.
Cobalt looked at him fast, she looked away flustered. "N-no I wouldn't miss you!"
Smaug looked at her as he tilted his head, "Not even a little bit?"
Cobalt fidgeted with her claws, she always did this when he teased her. "M-maybe a little bit..."
Smaug smirked as he looked away, he blinked however when his pets ran by Cobalt and he reacted the moment he saw that she was about to be knocked over.
As his pets ran out into the marsh, they left behind their master who had caught Cobalt from falling. Cobalt looked at him in great surprise, she almost fell but he caught her.
"T-thanks...", softly spoke Cobalt as her face quickly became heated.
Smaug nodded letting her go, afterwards he glanced at her lightly.
Why did he decide to stay? He was not much for the clan life, yet he agreed to stay. Even agreeing to stay when this so called war happens.
Smaug looked at his pets as they began swimming around in the marsh.
Cobalt stood beside him still while looking greatly embarrassed, she shyly looked at Smaug before looking at his pets. She hated when he teased her, yet she also liked it. Why did she stare at him all the time?
She hardly knew him, yet she wanted to know more about him. So many females in the clan were talking about him, and for good reason. He had done so much for them, it was not hard to see that he had a few fans.
Cobalt blinked hearing her father call for her, she looked back before looking at him. "I will see you later then..?"
Smaug looked at her with a small smile, "Yeah."
He watched her leave, as she left his sight did he look out into the marsh. He narrowed his eyes for he felt like he was being watched.
Well Smaug is a part of a clan! Who would of thought? But who is watching him? You will see in the next chapter! ^^
