After Song Ren's speech, Qian Meigui went to the Public Relations Department and the Legal Department, completing double the work than usual that afternoon. Once she returns to school, Qian Meigui would no longer need to work in the P.R.D., as she would be fully-fledged with the legal team.
It was at 5 p.m. when she left the company after cramming a whole day's work in a few hours. She then decided it was time to pick up Song Sheng from the set. Before she drove, Qian Meigui changed into casual clothing from business attire as she was going to Song Sheng's apartment right after.
Driving her Audi, she followed the GPS map Song Sheng sent earlier through their phone. The buildings appeared in her view as massive warehouses with various sets and labels. As soon as she parked, she found Set A, where Song Sheng said he would be. She walked in quietly when someone stopped her. A producer asked, "Who are you?"
"Apologies," she said sincerely, "I am Song Sheng's sister, and I am here to see him." Qian Meigui flashed him an identification card with personal information. He saw the name Song Mei on the card.
"All right," the producer said. He nodded towards another direction and said, "He's over there."
Qian Meigui nodded. She quietly walked towards the set, where the film was rolling in action. When she arrived, she glanced around the room, wondering where Song Sheng was. Her gaze then lingered over the cast, and she was shocked beyond words that Song Sheng was not only a producer but an actor in the movie. Her lips parted open, and feeling like she invaded, she stumbled and went to hide behind a huge camera.
Song Sheng wore a black collared shirt and a pair of tight black trousers that matched it, accentuating every part of his body well. His hair was clean and combed through.
Song Sheng was in the middle of a scene of a modern drama. He was acting in a dialogue with an actress; she was not sure who she was. The scene appeared to be tense as they both wore angrily and hurt expressions. But even though his face was reserved most of the time, it was still a rare sight to see those expressions.
Qian Meigui's lips parted opened in shock. She wished she had a snack to delight herself in from watching the scene.
Amid the dialogue, Song Sheng grabbed the woman's wrist, and she twirled to slap him. Qian Meigui gasped slightly, enchanted by the scene. Both the performers did so well.
Song Sheng's expression change to something from anger to deep affection and serenity; he gazed into the actresses' eyes and leaned in closer. Right when they were about to kiss, the director yelled, "That's a wrap for today!"
The set workers then began to move the cameras and staged items around the room. Qian Meigui stumbled, feeling lost as many people moved around the room. The scenery transforming very quickly.
Qian Meigui saw Song Sheng speaking to his co-star, and she began to approach him when three girls got in her way, they appeared to be extras on set. "Who are you?" asked one of the women.
Qian Meigui stumped for words, "..."
"We saw you watching Song Sheng in hiding. If you're here because you think you can speak to him then you best leave. He cannot see any fans at the moment." The woman had the face of a cunning woman, her face twisted with envy.
Qian Meigui furrowed her brows, puzzled. What? I am a fan of Song Sheng? Qian Meigui could not help but chuckle; she almost burst out laughing. It was too rich.
Qian Meigui ignored them and began to walk around them towards Song Sheng. One of the women pulled her back with a tight grip. Qian Meigui looked at her with an icy glare.
"I said, Song Sheng, isn't seeing anyone right now," the woman gritted out. Some set employees paused their work, witnessing the ordeal.
Qian Meigui narrowed her eyes, "Do I look like a fan?" she said with an agitated tone. She moved her elbow, "Don't stop me."
Qian Meigui dressed in a casual white sundress, and she never expected that someone would judge her on appearance. She was also allowed on set.
The girl held a grip on her before Qian Meigui heard a deep and sharp tone spoke from behind her, "What's going on?"
The woman let go of her grip. The girls straightened, wrapping their face with an innocent expression. "Young Master Song," said one of them, "We are trying to prevent a crazed fan from disturbing you," she said gently.
Qian Meigui's lips parted open. Crazed fan?
She felt like laughing, but Song Sheng's face was grave. He wore the same clothing on set with a long coat over. Suddenly, he grabbed her by the waist, protecting her as he tucked her in.
"Don't bother this woman again. In fact, I need to make sure that you are not in my sight," he said with a cut-throat sound, a warning for imminent doom.
The expressions from the women's faces changed from satisfaction to terrible expressions.
"But...Young Master—"
"Enough," he said with an eery calmness. "Next time you disrespect my sister, I'll be sure that you can't step foot in the Entertainment Industry again, not even to serve coffee."
"Sister?" the women appeared to be dumbfounded.
They turned to face her, "I am Song Mei," Qian Meigui said with a stunning, silverware smile.
The girls froze. Song Mei? Rumours say that Song Mei was the one Song Sheng doted on most in comparison to his other sisters. Those two used to be inseparable. It couldn't be! But this girl looks so plain?
For once in a very long time, Qian Meigui was glad to be his sister. It made the girls look foolish.
"Apologize," Song Sheng demanded. Qian Meigui glanced up at him, not expecting him to say that.
The women faced her pathetically and bowed their heads, "We are sorry Young Mistress Song Mei."
Qian Meigui wanted to be unforgiving, but some part of her wasn't. They were rude and judgemental of her, and without Song Sheng, they would have tried to humiliate her. But then again, she never had the heart to do anything but be herself.
"It's quite all right," she began to say gently and paused for a moment. "But I've never been appalled by such behaviour. You judged me when I came here for my brother, not for the actor," her voice changed. "I don't want to see that again," she finished.
The women looked like they did not want to admit defeat.
"Did you hear her?" Song Sheng asked them irritatingly.
"Yes," they said simultaneously and nodded their heads before hastily walking away.
Song Sheng's grip on her waist tightened. He then escorted her outside of the warehouse. He let go when he asked, "Where did you park your car?"
