My eyes wandered over to the two-sided sword that was lying on the thick floor, and I furrowed my brow in thought. This damned blade had the appearance of being centuries old, but it was razor sharp enough to cut through bones like they were leaves.

The phrase "a glistening beauty is death's most potent venom" was something that I had always heard, and it fit perfectly to this weapon.

The lovely sword had cut through heads, it had taken lives, it had caused pain, and it had brought death; in the same way, it had bought freedom from death, and with it, I would buy my own freedom.

I lowered myself to it and picked it up, but to my surprise, I ran into my biggest problem when I turned to face the massive opponent I had smashed to the floor earlier.

She jabbed me in my left ribs.
