Chapitre 1: The Void, The God and The Wish
Endless darkness.
An inky void that stretched on for miles upon miles.
There was no beginning.
No end.
And nothing to define what was there and where was 'there'.
I floated there.
Where ever 'there' was, I was there, I felt infinite.
Like a God.
My perception ad vision stretched on for infinity.
I was this voids master.
I was the only one here.
And I wanted nothing more than to stay here.
It was warm.
And it was comfortable.
It was like I was floating inside a storm cloud that could produce warm rain.
And yes, I had gone just a little bit mad.
Lost a few screws.
Missing some marbles.
A few eggs short of a dozen.
Above the line of Insanity and beyond the realms of man.
But I had not lost who I was.
I was still Markus Gallagher, a college student from Austin, Texas, who above all else, loved to read manga, I read in constantly, most of the time I ignored the outside world to do so.
And before you ask, no I'm not a cowboy, and no I've never ridden a horse or fired a shotgun.
I'm not some stereo type.
I may have been born in Texas, but when I was four I moved to Washington, D.C.
But in all fairness, I did ride a Bull once when I went to stay off my Grandma's house for Christmas.
But that's beside the point.
I may have been madder than a monkey that's been peed on.
But I'm still me.
I love Pokemon and my one wish as a kid was that I could use Pokemon moves.
But that never happened, so I settled with several bachelors degrees in Physics and Mathematics qns got a job as the Dean of physics at Washington University.
Not that I remembered much of what I learned in school, but he point was I had done it.
The only things I could clearly remember were all the hours playing Pokemon and my name.
"I wonder if I'll ever remember everything" I said to m6 elf as I stretched my arms and continued to relax
But then out of the corner of my eye, I saw something.
It was large, and glowed an eerie blueish black glow.
And it was fast, or at least it appeared and disappeared fast.
Faster than anything I could remember seeing or anything of the hallucinations I had ever seen in his darkness.
It didn't appear again.
So after waiting for a while, I stopped looking and continued to relax once more.

.
More time passed.
And he darkness didn't change.
That giant blue thing came back though, It would appear out of nowhere and stay for a few seconds ad disappear once again.
It had came back a total of eight times since its first appearance all those years ago.
And every time it would mouth words to me.
I didn't know what it was trying to say.
But every time it appeared its message would get longer.
It now had a total of 8 syllables.
But because that was the extent of my lip-reading abilities, I couldn't decipher the message.
But it had been a year and I had a seeking suspicion that it was about to come back for another visit.

I was right, it has appeared again but this time it seems different.
It doesn't glow and I can't help but feel like it's actually looking at me this time, instead of a vacant expression it usually had.
Then when it started to speak it's message, actual words came out.
Words
A voice other than my own.
It was like a miracal.
"Child of the void, tell me you wish"
And as I had suspected it didn't disappear, it stayed there and this time I got a very good look at it.
'It' was actually she, and she was very beautiful.
She had long blond flowing hair that seemed to defy gravity, pale skin that was not too dissimilar from snow and deep blue eyes that pierced the inky blackness of the void.
She was stunning.
And I could feel my heart start to beat faster when I looked at her.
After a few second of silence she spoke again.
"Child of he Void, why do you not answer me?"
It was then that I remembered she was asking me a question, so I replied.
"I-Im sorry, I... I was just shocked at your beauty, It's been a long time since I've seen another person, so please repeat your earlier question" I said.
"Child of the Void, Tell me your wish"
"my Wish?" I said in confusion
"yes, your wish, I have been instructed to give you a wish, it can be anything you could think of"
"anything..." this... This Is My Chance "I wish for a Solo Leveling Cheat System and if possible I want to go to the world of DanMachi"
"an interesting wish, It shall be granted, and as for the location, I was thinking of something similar to there, but if that is your wish it shall be granted, can I get a reason though?" she asked
"well... There is no reason, I just really like manga and the webcomic Solo Leveling, I really think that if I could be a Shadow Monarch and grow in the Dungeon and get a bunch of Shadow Warriors from Orarios' adventurer's Graveyard, I'd be really powerful"
"So it's about Power then?"
"... No and yes, I never had much power in my life, I read manga all the time, as an escape, but I just think that... I could do a lot of good, if I was in that world and I had the power to literally raised the dead, I could force a lot of changes"
"So it's about forcing your ideals on to others?"
"No, I just want to help people"
"the ends justify the means?
"..."
"I see that you are conflicted by your feelings, so I'll give you a chance to tell me what you want without the run around with words, prepare for 'The Link' "
"The wha-"
But before I could finish those words, I was practically struck by lightning.
It was as if there was something in my mind, like it was crawling around in my head.
I could feel the squishy sgwigaling sensation under my skin.
I resisted the urge to scream out, and soon it stopped.
I looked up at the lady with confusion "What The Fuck?!"
She just smiled at me "Your convictions are strong, but the message you want to get out is... It is not based on insanity"
"I don't understand"
My mind was all fuzzy, it was like there was this big gap in my head, like so thing was missing "what did you do in my head?"
"all I did was fix you message, I did not touch anything I was not supposed to, as for as I can see he only thing wrong is that the message that you wanted to get out has now been removed and has been replaced with what you told me you wanted to do, try saying what you want again" she suggested.
"I... I want to help, that's all, if they need help, and they can prove that they deserve it, I will help them... t-that's a lot easier than what I wanted to do" I said with a little bit of shame, seems my compromised sanity had corrupted my message.
"Now, are you ready to leave, while we have been talking, I have prepared the system, it will offer you everything that it offered Sung Jin Woo and even more, it had been edited to match the power system of Danmachi and Danmachi has been edited to match your presence, you will now be the conduit of fate, you are now the 'MC' as you would call it"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I was the MC now, does that mean...
"Will I have the skill. ?"
"no, that is Bells skill by Divine right, you will have the skills Shadow Save and Shadow Extraction these will be your skills, any you get along the way will be augmented to match your skills set as a Necromancer, but be warned, the road to a Shadow Monarch will be long and hard, you will need to sacrifice a lot to get to it"
I nodded my head, in the webcomic, Sung Jin Woo had needed to kill hundred of warriors in a class up quest and survive with minimal damage to get the class of Shadow Monarch, I would need to train my butt off to do that, especially because I had never fought before in my life.
"Ok, I'm ready, send me off"
The lady once again smiled at me "humans... Always in a rush" then with a wave of he had everything went dark.
With that darkness... came pain.
I could feel my bones stretch and twist, my muscles grow and harden and then an unimaginable wave of pain followed my 'Transformation' practically destroying my brain and any chance at recovering, or so I had thought at the time.
All this while I had my eyes clenched shut in pain, as my voice echoed through the darkness of the void.
But now it had stopped, I could think clearer than ever.
Whereas in the void, my thoughts were clouded unless they were something I remembered, where ever I was now I could think.
But more importantly, all my senses we're coming alive
My nose was on fire from all the exotic smells.
My ears were slowly becoming a collection of the sounds that this place and to offer.
My lungs also burned with pain from the air.
But most importantly, when I opened my eyes, I could see colour.
Oh how I missed colours.
The vibrant look that made my brain buzz.
How my brain always tried to match the colour to something that reminded me of it.
But the part that had me excited, was the things around me.
There were things that weren't just darkness.
Plants, trees, bushes, birds.
All of them filled my sight.
It was Amazing.
