Chapitre 15: Chapter 15

The last two months have been quite busy, yet during this time, I began to make progress in Occlumency, and I was also able to increase the number of sparks to six.

The entire summer was devoted not only to the study of Occlumency but also to improving the control of Dark Energy, the reserve of which was increased.

By the way, the increases were quite unexpected. There was a gang that sold drugs, attempting to spread them around the city through the orphanage children. Considering that I'm not the biggest fan of such pranks, these dealers disappeared from the face of the Earth, and I got new sparks.

After that, I deduced another feature of my strength. The peculiarity was that when I killed the wizard and Peeves, in addition to increasing the reserve of Dark Energy, my magic reserve also increased. But when I killed the dealers, there was no increase in the magic reserve.

Therefore, it could be said that the gain spectrum I get depends on who I destroy.

"Adam!" Mrs. Smith's voice rang out.

"I'm coming!" I said, returning the sparks back.

On this day, it was necessary to buy books for the second year. Fortunately, today we were traveling together to the center of London. Since I behaved exemplary all summer, I was able to get the necessary privileges.

When I came down, I saw that a lot of children were gathered, and Mrs. Smith was watching them.

"Adam, are you sure you can buy everything you need yourself?"

"Don't worry, Mrs. Smith. I didn't give a reason for such thoughts, did I?"

"Eh... But I can't stop worrying."

"I'll quickly get everything I need and come back."

My words, though a little, reduced the anxiety of the matron. At least the anxiety in her eyes became less than it was before.

"OK."

After a short trip, I was able to buy everything I needed for the second year. And all that remained was to wait for the Hogwarts Express.

"And before that, you should prepare for Professor Flitwick's tests."

The remaining time before the start of the school year passed very quickly. It seemed to me that time in childhood flows slowly, but apparently, I have the wrong case.

And here I was again in the compartment of the Hogwarts Express. Due to the fact that I crossed paths with Lily and Severus at the entrance to Platform 9 and 3⁄4, there was only Sirius to wait for.

"How did you spend the summer?"

"Great, did you know what we were going to study in the second year?" Lily asked excitedly.

"Well, I've read books on DADA and Transfiguration, and I'm currently studying a third-year book on charms. And in general, what I watched was pretty interesting."

"I have read a book on Potions, and I can say that it will be quite easy," Severus shrugged.

Lily also nodded in agreement and added, "Hair-raising potions are very easy to make. And there's nothing to talk about the Inflating Potion."

In response, these two only received from me a look filled with an answer, "Who would doubt it?"

"I would be surprised if you have a problem with this item..."

Right at that moment, a friend of mine flew into our compartment.

"My friends!" Sirius said as he came in with another boy who looked very much like himself. "Are you already talking about this study?"

Without waiting for an answer, he turned to the boy and continued, "Did I tell you that they are Ravenclaw in Gryffindor clothes?"

"Can you introduce us?" with a slight grin, I asked him, seeing how Lily's eyebrow twitched.

"Heh, let me introduce you to my younger brother Regulus Black," the heir of the Black family finished theatrically.

"My name is Adam, Adam White, nice to meet you, Regulus."

"Lily Evans, it's nice to meet you too," the girl decided to let go of the situation with Sirius.

"Severus Snape."

Regulus was visibly nervous, but feeling that his brother did not forget about him:

"It's nice to meet you too," Regulus finished more confidently.

The rest of the trip was already easier, but Sirius and I were similar in many ways in our characters. Regulus turned out to be a rather quiet boy, who was apparently raised in certain conditions, remembering Sirius' stories about his family... I can understand what kind of upbringing it was.

Thanks to the fact that I began to train my mind, my knowledge of the world described by J.K. Rowling was refreshed. And as I remember in the original story, the life of Regulus Arcturus Black ended rather sadly, and despite the relationship between Sirius and Regulus... I wanted to change this moment.

And considering that I have already managed to change some things ... We can say that he was extremely motivated.

"Which faculty are you thinking of enrolling in, Regulus?"

The boy, who was already more relaxed in our surroundings, said, "My mother and father said that I needed to enroll in Slytherin..."

"But where exactly do you want to go?"

Regulus looked at me blankly. So I had to continue, "It's not like they're studying there. And you and only you. Sirius wanted to be a serious pain... Ahem-ahem..."

The rest of the way passed in the atmosphere of our stories about which faculties of Hogwarts. And at the end of the trip, it could be said that my task was successful. I and the others managed to convince that the rest of the faculties are worth considering.

"Okay, Reggie, I'll see you in the Great Hall," Sirius said to his brother, who had to go with the rest of the first-year students.

"See you soon, Regulus," Severus, Lily, and I said.

After waiting until all the first-years had followed Hagrid, we moved to the elders to find out exactly where we should go.

"Hmm, it's a couple of minutes now... Frank said, and after finding someone with his eyes, he said, "Fabian! Gideon!"

Fabian and Gideon were red-haired twins who studied in our faculty. They were also the same age as Frank, but somehow, our communication did not intersect with them.

"Can you take the second-year students to the carriages?" the headman asked when he saw that the twins paid attention to him.

"OK," one of the twins nodded rather responsibly.

It was worth saying that compared to the Weasley twins, the Pruett twins were more serious. At least they weren't as inveterate jokers as Fred and George Weasley.

"Come with me," Fabian said, "let me show the way to these second-years, and will you show the rest? At the same time, I'll take a place for us."

Gideon only nodded in agreement, after which we were led in another direction.

"What was it like to pass the Owls?" I decided to start the conversation already.

"Heh, it was quite interesting... And the nerves were just a sight to behold. I remember how one girl from our course had a couple of gray strands from nerves."

My friends were obviously impressed by the red-haired man's story, but I can hardly be scared by this anymore. Especially after three years of university...

Standards of Teaching Magic (SOV) is an exam that all students must pass at the end of the 5th year in all subjects studied.

The following grades are used in the SOV exams:

Positive ratings:

Outstanding (O), Exceeds Expectations (E) or Acceptable (A).

Negative ratings:

Poor (P), Dreadful (D), or Troll (T)

To continue studying in a certain subject, it is necessary to get a grade of at least "Y" for the exam on it, although some teachers require "B". Some students who have received low grades in a certain subject continue to study it in the last two years, but at the level of OWLS.

As I learned, there are enough owls for a wizard to be considered educated and leave Hogwarts. Passing the SOV exam gives something like an incomplete secondary education. In general, it was similar to the OGE in Russia.

If desired, the wizard can return to school and get a full education. But not all "early adopters" decide on this.

Also, SOV scores are important for mastering any of the magical professions. It is not for nothing that special consultations are held for fifth-year students, at which the dean of their faculty individually gives advice on which subjects a student should pay closer attention to if he has chosen such a profession.

"And how did you pass?"

"Heh, pretty good. But, in general, it was lucky that my father was busy taking care of our sister who got married against the will of her parents. Gideon smiled at the end. - Yes, and in general, father and mother were busy with our nephew who turned 2 years old.

"Congratulations?"

"Thank you, but it seems to me that I will soon have another nephew."

Under such conversations, we began to approach the carriages.

"What's your sister's name?" Sirius asked.

"Her name is Molly. It's Molly Weasley now."

As soon as Gideon finished talking about his sister, we had already reached the carriages. Carriages which were carried by thestrals. Huge winged horses, more like skeletons, covered with smooth silky skin.

The muzzle of the thestral resembles a dragon, it has large wide-open white luminous eyes without pupils. The huge wings of the thestral are powerful, leathery and webbed, resemble the wings of a bat, and the tail is long and black.

"Then I think you will be able to choose a carriage for yourself?"

After receiving nods from us, Gideon smiled and said:

"It was nice to talk to you guys. And good luck to you."

After saying goodbye to Gideon, we chose a carriage for ourselves; the thestrals were even more beautiful creatures up close.

"Adam, where are you looking?" Lily asked me.

Apparently, I was too carried away by the fact that I was looking at the Thestrals.

"I was looking at the Thestrals."

"Can you see them?" Sirius was surprised.

"Yes."

Severus and Lily just looked at us in bewilderment, so it was necessary to clarify this point:

"These creatures can only be seen by those who have seen death." Smiling mirthlessly, I continued. "I saw how my mother died."

However, the last part was a lie, but the more colorful the lie, the easier it is to believe in it.

"However, they look really attractive."

"Are you kidding? According to the pictures, they look more like creepy monsters."

"But they do not behave aggressively."

If I remember correctly, these creatures adore apples; it will be necessary to bring them to them somehow.

After a short amount of time, we reached the Large Hall, where the teachers were already sitting. And the undergraduates have already gathered, too.

"Where do you think Regulus will end up?"

"Heh, to Gryffindor, just like me," Sirius replied.

"hm... I think it's Slytherin," Lily replied.

"In that case, I'm betting on Ravenclaw."

Fortunately, it didn't take long to wait for sorting to begin. And now a crowd of kids headed to Professor McGonagall, who was holding a list in her hands. I ignored a lot of names while waiting for Regulus' turn.

"Regulus Black!"

And so Sirius' younger brother was sitting where we were sitting last year. The hat thought for a long time about exactly where to send it, but after 5 minutes shouted:

"RAVENCLAW!"

When I heard his conclusion, I just smiled, thinking that I had managed to change some things.

"Did I win in the end?"

Sirius and Lily just rolled their eyes at my childish act. After that, among those who still sat down at the stool, a rather familiar surname sounded.

"Xenophilius Lovegood!"

It was a boy with a rather interesting head of white hair, much like cotton candy, shoulder-length hair. As soon as the hat was placed on his head, she immediately shouted:

"RAVENCLAW!"

After that, there was a feast in honor of the beginning of the new school year, and then the typical school weekdays began. Until the middle of September came.

"The closest date for duels between people of your age is the end of November," Professor Flitwick said during our training sessions. "And I think you're ready for it."
