Alice stopped her footsteps when someone called her name.
"What are you doing here?" Alice asked Caroline.
The girl smiled kindly and walked over to Alice.
"Alice, where are you going?" asked Caroline.
"None of your business!" said Alice curtly.
"Alice, why are you still so stiff? How long are you going to stay away from me?" Caroline grabbed Alice's hand.
"Let's just talk for a minute, Alice," Caroline whined.
"How long will we continue to be enemies? How long will you continue to hate me, Alice?"
Alice tried to refuse but Caroline came back to her and kept on whining until Alice couldn't resist anymore. And she was forced to give Caroline a chance.
"Alright, let's chat over there!" Alice pointed to a simple restaurant.
Then the two women who used to be good friends chatted in that place.
"Let's just sit here," Alice said, pulling up a stool.
"Okay, what do you want, Alice? Let me treat you," said Caroline.
"No need, I have my own money!" snorted Alice.
'How arrogant,' said Caroline in her heart. Then the woman put on a fake smile.
"Okay, I respect your decision, Alice. As long as you want to sit and chat with me, I'm already happy," said Caroline with a happy smile, of course, it was all just a fake expression.
Alice also slightly pulled the corners of her lips into a faint smile mixed with cynicism.
Then things calmed down a bit, and Caroline started making small talk.
"Alice, how are you?"
"As you can see, I'm fine," Alice replied.
"Ah ... thank God ... at least I can breathe a sigh of relief now. Because I heard from Carlos, that you just had a bad experience. And that woman named Sea is really scary, huh?"
"Ah please don't say that name again!" snapped Alice.
"Sorry, Alice ... I just feel sorry for you. But at least I'm relieved to see you back and being able to chat like this, I hope nothing bad will happen to you again. Because you are a good person," concluded Caroline while touching Alice's hand.
"Thank you," Alice said to Caroline. But her gaze was still stiff.
It takes time to get things back to normal.
Despite trying to let it all go, there was still… there was something that made Alice's heart still feel stuck and irritated.
"Alice, I'm not tired of saying this, I'm sorry for the mistakes I made earlier," said Caroline.
"Yeah, I've forgiven you anyway," Alice replied as she took a sip of the drink in front of her.
"Thank you. And if I may ask, do you still want Carlos back to you?" asked Caroline.
Alice smiled sarcastically as she shook her head.
"No. I don't want to have any relationship with that man anymore," Alice replied.
"Good. I think that's much better!" said Caroline.
Alice looked up for a moment. "You must be happy to hear that, right?" Alice asked.
"Yes...of course. Because I care about you, Alice."
"It means?"
"Ah, look. I know, Carlos still loves you. But he can't let me go. He's just a greedy man. He's crazy about me, but he doesn't want to let you go," concluded Caroline.
Alice smiled sarcastically again. "Really. I don't really understand what you mean, but I don't care anyway ...." Alice concluded.
"Well, Alice, let me explain,"
"Uh, no need!"
"It's okay let me explain! You should know, Alice!"
"Ah, it's okay if you keep insisting...." said Alice who looked resigned.
Caroline smiled slyly and tried to prepare herself to act in front of Alice.
"Alice, to be honest, Carlos is a very greedy man. He wanted to have you again, but when I wanted to leave him ... he wouldn't let me." Now Caroline's tears started flowing.
She also has acting skills apart from modeling.
"I also can't just let Carlos go, Alice. Now I'm starting to get caught in his arms. And I don't care anymore even if he will double me by coming back to you. The important thing is that I am still with him,"
"How so big you feel?"
"Yeah! I love Carlos! And I know one day he'll stop chasing you! Because he knows I'm the best!" said Caroline with a passionate expression.
"Haha! You're stupid, huh?" scorned Alice.
"I'm not stupid! I just want to turn a Playboy guy into a loyal guy!" said Caroline.
Alice shook her head and said, "Then go after him and don't let him go!" she said with a half disdainful smile.
"Why are you going?" asked Caroline who saw Alice's movements.
"I'm going! Because I don't want to be close to you for too long!" Alice answered.
"Why? You're jealous, aren't you?" asked Caroline.
"Jealous?" Alice smiled faintly, "Tch! Not at all!" Then her body swayed and started walking. Caroline tried to grab Alice's hand.
"Wait!"
"What again?"
"Alice! Be honest with me! You must be happy to see Carlos chasing you again, huh?"
"No! I wish he were dead! No need to come into my life anymore! Too bad he still cares about me and instead followed me to London!"
"Don't get excited just yet, Alice! I told you earlier, didn't I if Carlos was—"
"Enough! Don't badmouth Carlos! Maybe this was just a trick of yours to keep me away from Carlos, right? I've known you for a long time! And I'm sure your apology was just a formality, right?" quipped Alice. Caroline immediately fell silent with an annoyed look in her eyes.
"I can't understand why there are humans like you. And I'm also sorry that I ever thought of you as the most important person, until I didn't realize that you were just a snake!" scorned Alice.
Caroline did not accept Alice's words, the woman began to get angry.
"Shut up, Alice! You don't know who you're dealing with, huh!?" Caroline snapped, and unknowingly her scream made other visitors look at her.
But Alice still looked relaxed.
"I told you ... you're not a human, but a snake! Don't you accept that title? Or do you want me to give you another nickname? The Bitch, for example?" Alice teased.
Caroline was getting tighter, she raised her hand and was about to slap Alice. But Alice managed to parry the slap with her hand.
"Okay, I can't be rude. I wanted to tell you something, Alice!" said Caroline, smiling slyly.
"What?"
"Here," Caroline pointed to the cell phone in her hand.
"So last night I just spent time with your ex-husband. And I had time to take the video," said Caroline.
"Oh, I'm surprised... but I don't want to see it. Really!" said Alice as she pushed away Caroline's hand, then she left her former best friend.
"Wait!" Caroline shouted.
"Yeah, just take Carlos! I'm sincere!" said Alice.
