Chapitre 24: Do you love Chen Ziyue?
Song Ning bit her lips and her eyes flashed with anger.
According to her, there were only two types of men. One who loved their woman so much that they would never believe anything against them no matter how many proofs were put in front of them. And, the other type of man was the one who loved himself more, treated women like they are beneath themselves, and would do anything for their own benefit.
Obviously, Si Jingyun belonged to the second type. He was the kind of person who believed that all women were beneath him. He loved himself more than anybody else and he was marrying Chen Ziyue simply for his benefit. But with Chen Ziyue's current image, marrying her would do him more harm.
When the entire world was against Chen Ziyue, then why was Si Jingyun still trusting her?
Song Ning's eyes flashed when she thought of the first reason. Did Si Jingyun fall in love with her?
No!
Song Ning laughed at the thought. Si Jingyun can never fall for any woman. Just to think about the possibility that he would fall in love with Chen Ziyue was utterly stupid. This thought itself was next to impossible.
"Jingyun, but those photos on the internet -"
"Fake," Si Jingyun interrupted her.
Song Ning's eyes flashed with hatred. "And, what about that businessman who said -"
"All lies."
"And that -"
"Song Ning," Si Jingyun looked straight into her eyes, interrupting her. "All of this is just a big trap laid by my enemies. I think someone doesn't want me to marry Chen Ziyue. Or maybe, someone hates Chen Ziyue, and hence, that person tried to defame her. But one thing I know for sure. Chen Ziyue is innocent. She would never do such kind of thing."
"Si Jingyun, do you... do you love Chen Ziyue?"
"What?" Si Jingyun gave her a 'are you crazy' look. "Pftt!!! Song Ning, what's wrong with you? Don't you know me well? I don't love Chen Ziyue."
"Then why do you trust her so much?" Song Ning asked. "I mean, Chen Ziyue has a wild reputation. Who knows what she might be doing behind your back? Jingyun, you cannot trust anyone so easily. You know, those proofs might be real."
"And, just supposed, what you are trying to say is the truth. Someone has really plotted against Chen Ziyue. But, why would someone do that? Why would that businessman lie that he was having an affair with that Chen Ziyue?"
Si Jingyun smiled slightly which made Song Ning's heart beat like crazy. "I don't know why that businessman was lying to the world. But, I know one thing. Chen Ziyue would never do such kind of a thing. She's not that kind of a woman," he said. "Someone has trapped her in a dirty game. I just have to find out who and why. But, this is a big problem or I should say a hurdle in my way. For the past two years, I have been trying to find this person but to no avail."
Song Ning's heart skipped a beat and a look of fear flashed through her eyes. However, she quickly covered up her expressions before Si Jingyun could notice anything. "Maybe you are trying to find a person who doesn't exist." she implied.
"What do you mean?" Si Jingyun narrowed his eyes.
"If Chen Ziyue was really innocent, then why did she commit suicide?" Song Ning asked.
"I don't know...."
"See, that's what I am talking about." Song Ning pointed out. "Maybe she really had an affair with that businessman. And, when the truth got out, she felt guilty and committed suicide. Don't you think so?"
"No." Si Jingyun shook his head.
Anger and jealousy burned in Song Ning's veins. With each passing second, it was getting unbearable for her to see this deep amount of trust that Si Jingyun had in that wild woman. Why was Chen Ziyue so different from other women in Si Jingyun's eyes? Why couldn't he just accept the proofs that were in front of him?
"Jingyun, Chen Ziyue's reputation -"
"Song Ning, that's enough!" Si Jingyun stopped her. "I don't want to hear anything more against Chen Ziyue. She is my fiance and I will handle her matter on my own. You don't have to interfere in my business. As for her reputation, now that she's awake, I will clear it out soon. You don't have to worry about it."
"Of course, Jingyun." Song Ning faked an obedient smile.
However, on the inside, she was busy cursing Chen Ziyue and her good luck. It was all because of that wild woman's good luck. Even death couldn't take her away. Just when she(Song Ning) thought that everything was going well and she was having a chance to be with the person she loved, Chen Ziyue woke up.
Since they were little, Chen Ziyue's good luck has stolen things and people that should have belonged to her. That's why she hated Chen Ziyue from the bottom of her heart.
"Let's go to the hospital," Si Jingyun said. He got up from his chair, adjusted his wrinkled shirt, and grabbed his coat. After making sure that he looked well, he turned towards the door.
"Hmm." Song Ning nodded and followed quietly behind him.
Her heart skipped a beat when she looked at the handsome man with a straight back walking ahead of her. It was his dominance and charm that attracted her. As they made their way towards the elevator, all the men and women in the office bowed respectfully towards them. Song Ning smiled politely at them, while her eyes moved swiftly over the female colleagues in the office.
As a woman, she could notice their fawning, admiring look at Si Jingyun. She knew that most of the women in Si Jingyun's office had a crush on him. She couldn't help but feel proud that the man she loved was admired by so many women. Moreover, they could only admire him from afar, but she was ahead of all of them.
As for Chen Ziyue, Song Ning didn't care much about her. Si Jingyun could only belong to her. Now, as Chen Ziyue was suffering from a memory loss, she was going to take full advantage of it and destroy the engagement between Si Jingyun and Chen Ziyue.
