Chapitre 1: Goodbye Earth
The Earth, the third planet from the Sun, and the only astronomical object known to harbour life. That might not be true though. Is there other life out there? Scientists usually ponder about this but in the end, most come to conclusions that there are no other life out in space.
3019, Earth
All life seemed about to end. The sun shone brightly in the sky, making the ground scorching hot and leaving the plants and crops to wither and die. The human population was decreasing drastically, people were dropping like flies due to the extreme climate change.
Just when the Earth was about to 'turn off', a weird- looking rocket landed in the middle of a dessert. People from the Sahara desert were crowding around the object, wondering if it was an illusion because of the intense heat.
Five people, or they assumed, came out from the spacecraft and they were wearing peculiar clothing. Two of the five were adults. They lady was inhumanly beautiful, she was wearing a flowery dress, which was red in colour and a scarf made of mesh. The man wore a long coat that was blue in colour and a pair of black leather gloves. Their children were awfully adorable. Three small boys, one with oddly blue hair, the other had blond and the last one was a redhead.
The man sighed in satisfaction and said,"Finally, we've found another home!" After he said that, about a hundred more huge spacecrafts landed on the sand, each one with hundreds of people coming out of it.
10 years later
Celeste, a sixteen-year-old girl, ran as fast as a bolt of lightning to the nearby bakery. She could not be spotted by any of the Astrion guards after curfew.
"Two loafs of plain bread please." Celeste smacked a two-dollar bill on the counter while breathing heavily. An old but plum man came out from a small room and slowly packed the last two loafs of bread into a plastic bag.
"Be careful. You do not want to get caught by them." The store owner warned Celeste. She was a usual customer at the bakery and she would always come to buy two loads of bread to share with her family of four after curfew.
Celeste made her way back to her home after she nodded and thanked the baker. On the way home, something unexpected happened. While stealthily sneaking back to her tiny house, she accidentally knocked into one of the guards.
Game over. Her family would be executed by the Astrions, the aliens from Pluto who took over the Earth and renamed it Resnactine. Celeste absolutely hated the Astrions. They were aliens with god-like powers and they had made a lot of unreasonable rules for humans to abide. Humans like Celeste had no choice but to follow the Astrions as the human race was almost extinct because of global warming.
The royal family was the cause of all this, and Celeste despised them. They were control freaks, they were hungry for more and more power. The fact that Celeste has been caught by one of the royal guards made her shudder and sweat profusely.
The guard took off her hood and Celeste slowly looked up. Whoa. The beautiful blue eyes that stared and bored into her soul right now made Celeste forget who she was, what she was here for. The guard's messy and disheveled hair, which was electric blue in colour, made him really good-looking. Celeste shook her head violently to stop her from being mesmerised by the guard.
"You know it is past curfew, right?" The tall guard asked. Celeste looked away for a while and taught of a plan. How does she escape from a alien that serves the royal family and has magical powers? She could not think of a escape plan and gave up. Her shoulders slumped and she sighed.
"Just kill me. But, keep in mind that my family has nothing to do with this." Celeste said. She looked into the guard's eyes steadily, making sure to not look intimidated by him.
At this moment, realisation struck her like a lightning bolt. "You...the second prince. Prince Ryker. Go away! I don't want anything to do with the royal family!" Celeste shouted and pushed him away with all her might.
"No need to be so violent. It's okay, I have no intention of executing you and your family at all, not to mention hurting you." Prince Ryker said. She mumbled,"Yeah right."
"Not all people from the royal family are like my parents. They can be very overbearing at times. They even forced me into an arranged marriage with Princess Hannella from the neighbouring kingdom." Prince Ryker explained.
"Huh? There's another kingdom in Resnactine?" Celeste asked, obviously puzzled.
"Wow, I didn't know a peasant girl like you could be so clueless." Prince Ryker said with a smirk. "Stop it!" Celeste said, slightly flustered.
"Let me show you." Prince Ryker grabbed Celeste's hand and pulled her away.
