It had already been a long day and night, and I knew that it was still far from over. Not to mention, when Jaz and I got home, I noticed that she was not doing too well. I could see that she was going through a lot, physically and emotionally. And all this stuff about the earthquake and destruction in the place that she used to call home, it was affecting her more than I thought it would. I hadn't noticed it too much at first, but the more that we all talked at Rika's, the worse that she seemed to get.

"Jaz, sweetheart, are you alright?" I asked her as I put an arm around her shoulders. "What's the matter?"

"What's the matter?!" She snapped at me, pulling away as if she were angry at me. "How could you ask me that? You should know what's wrong."
