With a flap of his purple wings, Xiao Yu hovered about ten meters above the magma. Staring at the seething lake below, he drew his sword, Mo Lin, and slashed downward.

A powerful arc of sword energy cleaved the lava, splitting it into a deep chasm. Molten rock sprayed in all directions. Xiao Yu's Bone Chilling Flame protected him, vaporizing any magma that got too close.
As the chasm gradually closed and the lava calmed, Xiao Yu frowned. "Strange... why is there no reaction?"
Just as he prepared to unleash another strike, a deafening rumble erupted from below. A massive form surged upward, scattering lava everywhere.
A colossal, fiery-red, twin-headed serpent emerged, its shrill hiss echoing through the cavern. It darted toward Xiao Yu with lightning speed, its massive jaws open wide.
Hovering mid-air, Xiao Yu remained motionless, seemingly stunned.
However, as the serpent neared, it abruptly halted. Its massive heads raised in apprehension, eyes locked onto Xiao Yu with visible fear. The Bone Chilling Flame radiating from Xiao Yu was a clear deterrent.
Smiling faintly, Xiao Yu taunted, "Clever little creature, you know the power of the Heavenly Flame, don't you? Even a seven-ranked beast like the Seven-colored Swallowing Python fears it. Do you really think you stand a chance?"
He sighed and continued, "But I'm not here to bully you today. I just broke through, so let's see if you're good sparring material." With that, he dismissed the Bone Chilling Flame.
The serpent couldn't understand Xiao Yu's words but noticed the disappearance of the flame. Its wariness was replaced by exhilaration as it lunged forward, tongues flicking like crimson swords.
"Bring it on!" Xiao Yu laughed as he surged forward, meeting the beast head-on.
Their collision created a deafening boom, leaving Xiao Yu's hand slightly numb from the impact. "Damn, this thing's no joke. Its strength really matches a Dou Spirit."
Xiao Yu retreated slightly, channeling his Dou Qi. His sword glowed faintly red as he darted back into the fray.
The serpent, enraged by the earlier clash, lashed out with both heads, its massive tail whipping lava into the air. Xiao Yu skillfully evaded, weaving through the onslaught.
Enraged, the serpent suddenly halted and began convulsing. Moments later, two enormous streams of molten fire erupted from its mouths, surging toward Xiao Yu like volcanic eruptions.
"Well, that's a problem!" Xiao Yu exclaimed, summoning the Bone Chilling Flame for protection. He punched one of the fiery streams, deflecting it into the cavern wall. The other stream slammed harmlessly into the magma lake.
The serpent glared at Xiao Yu, its massive eyes burning with killing intent. Yet, the presence of Xiao Yu's Heavenly Flame kept it at bay.
Breathing heavily, Xiao Yu smirked. "If I didn't have this flame, I'd be toast. But once I absorb the Green Lotus Core Flame, I'll be unstoppable!"
Ignoring the serpent, Xiao Yu found a raised stone platform in the magma lake and sat cross-legged. A wave of Heavenly Flame enveloped him, forming a protective barrier.
The serpent hissed in frustration, circling the platform but unable to approach.
From his storage ring, Xiao Yu retrieved the Green Lotus Core Flame. Placing it before him, he formed a series of complex hand seals and began the long process of refining the flame.
It took seven days of uninterrupted focus, but Xiao Yu successfully integrated the Green Lotus Core Flame into his body.
Opening his eyes, Xiao Yu felt the two flames—Bone Chilling Flame and Green Lotus Core Flame—peacefully coexisting within him. A playful flick of his fingers produced a wisp of green fire, which danced gently in his palm.
During those seven days, Xiao Yu had taken breaks to spar with the serpent, honing his skills and pushing his limits. Though he had often relied on the Heavenly Flame to keep the beast at bay, he felt his combat proficiency had significantly improved.
"Now that I've absorbed the flame, it's time to show that snake who's boss!" Xiao Yu declared, a confident grin spreading across his face.
