"Kehehe," a sinister laugh echoed as the black mist swirled and condensed into the shape of a figure wreathed in dark smoke.
This figure, enveloped in thick black smoke, revealed a grotesque, terrifying skull face, with eerie, ghostly green eyes that fixated on everyone below.
Those pitch-black eyes seemed to conceal boundless bloodlust, cruelty, and madness!
An overwhelming sense of danger spread through the air, suffocating everyone present!
At that moment, a profound sense of unease welled up in the hearts of all who saw him.
The members of the Lan Shan Empire and the various rogue cultivators looked up at the figure in the sky, their faces filled with fear.
"What is that thing?!"
"Is it even human?"
"This is terrifying!"

The Supreme Elder, along with Lan Cangshan and the other Dou Wangs, displayed looks of caution and dread.
The black-robed elder's eyes narrowed as he spoke, "What kind of monster is that?"

"Could it be... No, it's impossible! How could a living Dou Zong appear in a place like this?"
The black-robed elder quickly dismissed the unrealistic thought and then addressed the shadowy figure in the black smoke, "May I ask who you are? Have you come for the Dou Zong's legacy as well? I am from the Black Blood Sect, one of the top sects in the Northwestern Continent, and I am also a fifth-tier alchemist."
He continued, "The Barbarian Emperor beside me is an elder of our sect."
The black-robed elder's message was clear: he and his companion were formidable, so it would be unwise to provoke them.
"Kehehe," the shadowy figure let out another sinister laugh. "Very good, a fifth-tier alchemist. I am Protector Shou."
"As for my purpose here, you don't need to know, because all of you... will die today!"
With that, Protector Shou scanned the surroundings, a cruel smile forming on his skeletal face. "A fifth-tier alchemist Dou Huang, plus two more Dou Huang's and nine Dou Wangs—I haven't waited in vain."
Then, he unleashed an overwhelming pressure, far surpassing that of the black-robed elder.
The black-robed elder's face turned pale as he felt the immense pressure. "This is... the pressure of a Dou Zong!"

"Supreme Elder!" The faces of Lan Cangshan and the other Dou Wangs turned pale. Just as they began to form their own Dou Qi wings, the pressure forced them to their knees.
"Ah!"
"What's happening?!"
Meanwhile, everyone below the Dou Wang level was pinned to the ground, vomiting blood and unable to move.
"Damn it! What kind of power is this?!" Even the distant Dou Wangs, such as Yan Ming, struggled to breathe under the crushing pressure, sweat beading on their foreheads.
As the shadowy figure in the black mist released his pressure, tendrils of black energy began to extend from his body, forming chains that snaked towards the rogue cultivators and family disciples below.
"What is this?!"
"Ahhhh!"
Screams of terror erupted.
In just a few short moments, the rogue cultivators and family disciples below were crying out in agony as the black chains pierced their chests, killing them instantly. Blood soaked the earth, painting a horrifying scene.
"So this is the power of a Dou Zong... truly terrifying," the Barbarian Emperor murmured, his face grim as he watched the carnage unfold.
The black-robed elder nodded in agreement, his expression dark. "We're no match for him... and we can't escape either."
Though he was a six-star Dou Huang and the Barbarian Emperor a seven-star Dou Huang with a formidable physique, making him a match for a nine-star Dou Huang, they were nothing more than large ants in the eyes of a Dou Zong.
The surviving rogue cultivators were paralyzed with fear, and Lan Cangshan and the other Dou Wangs turned deathly pale.
This was the kind of power that could kill hundreds in mere moments, including Da Dou Shi and Dou Ling experts!
Many of these Da Dou Shi and Dou Ling level fighters were elite members of top forces or empires, and yet they had been slaughtered without the slightest chance to fight back!
"Damn it!" Lan Cangshan and the other Dou Wangs were filled with rage as they saw so many of their people dead, but the overpowering pressure left them unable to move.
"A Dou Zong..." the Supreme Elder muttered in shock, his face blank.
"What?!"
"A Dou Zong, a legendary Dou Zong!"
"Supreme Elder, are you sure?" Lan Cangshan asked in disbelief.
"Such terrifying power and pressure... a Dou Huang could never achieve this," the Supreme Elder replied with a deep breath.
"How could this be?"
"We're doomed, completely doomed," the other Dou Wangs murmured in fear, realizing that they had provoked a legendary Dou Zong. The fact that this expert had come with the intent to kill everyone present meant their lives were likely be forfeited today

"Kehehe, the ants have been mostly cleared out. Now it's time to deal with the rest of you," Protector Shou's eyes gleamed with a murderous glint as he looked at the remaining Dou Huang's and Dou Wang's below.
Black chains shot out again!
"Run!" Mo Kun shouted as the chains flew towards them. The three Dou Wangs quickly formed their Dou Qi wings, but before they could escape, the chains pierced their bodies.
"Be careful!" the Supreme Elder warned as he saw the three Dou Wangs fall.
Before Lan Cangshan and the others could react, the chains had already wrapped around their necks, immobilizing them.
The Supreme Elder quickly gathered his earth-attribute Dou Qi to form a giant shield to block the incoming chains, but the chains shattered the shield, sending the Supreme Elder flying. He vomited blood as he crashed to the ground, his fate unknown.
The Barbarian Emperor and the black-robed elder struck out at the chains as they came for them, their powerful Dou Qi shattering the black chains.
Unfortunately, though they broke the chains, they couldn't stop them from regenerating and wrapping around their bodies!
The chains tightened more and more.
"Damn it! How is this happening?!" The Barbarian Emperor and the black-robed elder's faces were filled with despair.
"Kehehe," Protector Shou laughed coldly. "Though you two are stronger than the others, you're still nothing but larger ants to me. A fifth-tier alchemist... what an unexpected bonus."
Protector Shou hadn't expected to find a Dou Zong's legacy here, let alone encounter several Dou Huang's and a fifth-tier alchemist. With so many powerful souls, he could easily complete his mission for the Hall of Souls.
He might even earn the Hall Master's favor and be promoted from a Human-ranked Protector to an Earth-ranked Protector, significantly boosting his status within the Hall!
The thought brought an excited gleam to Protector Shou's eyes.
"An unexpected bonus for me too!"
Suddenly, a voice echoed through the sky, shattering Protector Shou's thoughts.

A calm voice echoed from all directions.
As the voice swept through the area, the chains binding everyone shattered and disintegrated into dust!
"We're saved, Your Majesty!" The Dou Wangs of the Lan Shan Empire trembled with excitement as they felt the chains around their necks dissolve.
"Yes, but let's hope this new arrival is on our side," Lan Cangshan said, relief evident on his face.
The black-robed elder and the Barbarian Emperor crashed to the ground, covered in blood and gasping for air.
This was beyond terrifying!
A mere voice had shattered the chains that had bound everyone. It was as absurd as it was terrifying!
"Rumble!"
Suddenly, the sky darkened as thick clouds began to gather, and a terrifying aura spread through the heavens.
The air shimmered, and under the astonished gazes of Protector Shou and the others, a figure clad in black appeared in the sky.
The figure stood in the void, arms folded behind his back, and looked at Protector Shou with a cold expression. "Protector Shou, is it? Have you prepared enough treasures to buy your life?"
