Duke drove as fast as she could and soon they were in the private airfield south of the town they had been staying. 

Even before they got down, Asher could hear the sound of the helicopter as it was being prepared for take off.

Starr grabbed her hand. "I don't want to go. I want us to stay"

Asher took off their seat belts but before he dragged the little girl out kicking and screaming, he wanted to talk to her first.

"Sweetheart, it's just for a few hours. I have something to deal with and you get to see grandma and then we will come back here, I promise"

Starr didn't believe a word. "I don't believe you. If you go back, you will change back to the person you used to be. And I don't want to see grandma looking like this. She's going to scream" She grabbed his arm. "Please, mommy will open the door soon enough but we have to be there when she does"
